Total Connect is the exclusive interactive service for Honeywell security systems. When using surveillance cameras with this service, you will need to use Total Connect compatible cameras. These cameras are specifically designed to be used with the Total Connect service. Once you have a camera installed and set up with Total Connect, you can use the service to gain complete control over the surveillance device. This is extremely convenient for accessing your complete security setup from one easily accessible location.

There are many types of Total Connect cameras available, and users will want to be sure that they choose the best one for their unique needs. For example, some Total Connect cameras are weatherproof and will function in an outdoor environment. Other cameras are better for indoor use or low-light situations. You should also check the video recording capabilities of the camera before making your purchasing decision.

By using Total Connect, you can program your security camera in some very useful ways. Total Connect cameras generally capture video based upon motion detection. These devices include a built-in motion detector, and the camera will start recording whenever the device is activated. You can change the settings of the motion detector from Total Connect. For example, you might decrease the range of the built-in motion detector so that the camera does not capture video when it isn’t relevant. This is useful for preventing the camera from recording in unnecessary situations that are not of importance to you.

Total Connect will also allow you to access your recorded video clips at any time. From Total Connect, you can view any recorded clips and save these clips for permanent use. Any video clips on Total Connect will be stored for up to 30 days, allowing you to access them at your own convenience. Total Connect is also where you will make any changes to your security camera’s settings, such as enabling sound recording and setting the recording quality.

Remember, Total Connect cameras are only compatible with the Total Connect service, and they will not function with other interactive services. This means that Total Connect cameras should only be used by those with a Honeywell security system, as other security systems will not use the Total Connect service. Additionally, the user will need to have an alarm monitoring plan that includes video surveillance. This includes both of the Platinum Level monitoring plans from Alarm Grid. If ever you have any questions about our monitoring plans, our support team is happy to help you over the phone or online.

In order to use a camera with Total Connect, it will need to be connected to the network. This can be done using either a hardwired ethernet connection or a wireless WPS connection. Once the network connection has been established, the camera will need to be integrated into the user’s Total Connect account. This process will be completed by the user’s alarm monitoring company. The user will need to provide the MAC address and the CRC code for the camera in order to have it successfully integrated with their Total Connect account.
