The 2GIG Edge Cable w/ AC1 Barrel Connection is the power cable that completes the connection between the 2GIG Edge Alarm Panel and the 2GIG AC1 Transformer that comes included with the 2GIG Edge Security System. This cable makes it easy for a DIY user to get started with the 2GIG Edge.
As a prepared cable, the only tool you need with the 2GIG Edge Cable is a screwdriver to connect the two (2) spade connectors to the plug-in transformer. Since DC power is being used, you must observe polarity. Red is for Positive (+), and Black is for Negative (-). The transformer can then be plugged into any standard wall outlet. You have the option of securing it with the included bracket, but doing so is not required. The other end of the prepared power cable is a barrel connector plug that inserts into a port on the 2GIG Edge System.
Remember that no power wire comes included with the 2GIG Edge. If you want to avoid having to strip and prepare traditional cabling, then this prepared 2GIG Edge Cable w/ AC1 Barrel Connection is perfect for the job. The 2GIG Edge uses this AC power connection as its primary source of power. The cable is not too long, and it allows sufficient current to reach the panel. This prevents any AC power loss trouble conditions, and it ensures that the backup battery can charge properly.
