How Do I Check Which WIFI Network My IQ Panel 5 Is Connected To?
To check which WIFI network your IQ Panel 5 is connected to, swipe down, touch Settings, touch Advanced Settings, enter your code, then touch About. The SSID listed under Wi-Fi Information is the name of the network your panel is using right now. Checking it takes only a few moments to do.
What the SSID Field Shows
The IQ Panel 5 (available in AT&T LTE and Verizon LTE) lists the name of the WIFI network it is currently connected to in the Wi-Fi Information section of the About page. That name is called the SSID, short for Service Set Identifier, and it is the same network name you see when you pick a network on your phone or laptop. Checking it takes only a few moments and answers a simple question: which of the networks in my home is my panel actually using?
This matters most in homes with more than one network, such as a main network and a guest network, a separate network for smart home devices, or a mesh system where several access points broadcast similar names. If your security system is connected to the wrong network, it can lose its connection when that network is turned off or its password changes, even though the rest of your home internet keeps working.
How to Check Which WIFI Network the Panel Is Connected To
1. Swipe down from the top of the screen. This opens the Settings Tray with quick controls.

2. Touch Settings. This opens the main Settings page.
3. Touch Advanced Settings. This prompts you to enter a code before continuing.

4. Enter your code. The Installer Code, default 1111, the Master Code, default 1234, or the Dealer Code, default 2222, all provide access to the About page.
5. Touch About. This opens the system information page showing Battery, Software, Hardware, Patches, Cellular, Z-Wave, PowerG, Wi-Fi Information, and Internal Storage details.
6. Scroll down to the Wi-Fi Information section. This section sits below the Z-Wave and PowerG details.
7. Find SSID in the list. The SSID is the name of the WIFI network the panel is connected to right now.
The Other Fields in the Wi-Fi Information Section
The SSID sits alongside four other readings that together describe the WIFI connection. Connection shows Connected or Disconnected, which tells you whether the panel has joined a network at all. IP Address shows the address the panel was given when it connected. Speed shows the connection speed in Mbps. Internet shows Available or Unavailable, which tells you whether the panel can communicate outside your home, not just reach your router.
Reading these fields together gives a fast picture of the connection. A correct SSID with Connection showing Connected and Internet showing Available means the panel is on the network you expect and can reach the outside world, which is exactly what your monitoring service needs from the WIFI path.
When It Is Worth Checking the Network Name
There are a few situations where a quick look at the SSID saves time. After a router replacement or an internet provider change, the network name may have changed, and the panel may still be trying to use the old one. After a mesh system or range extender is added, the panel may have joined a different access point than the one you intended. When a family member reports that something connected to the system is not responding, confirming the SSID is also a useful first step before deeper troubleshooting.
If the SSID Is Not the Network You Expected
If the name shown is not the network you want the panel to use, return to the WIFI settings and select the correct network. Go to Advanced Settings, Installation, Devices, then Wi-Fi. Choose the right network from the list and enter its password, since the password is not shown again once it has been saved. After the panel reconnects, return to the About page and confirm the SSID now shows the correct name.
If the SSID Field Is Blank
If the panel is not connected to any network, there is no network name to show, and the Connection field reports Disconnected. Confirm your router is powered on and within range, then reconnect through the WIFI settings. If the panel still will not connect, run a WIFI Test from the System Tests menu on the panel for a more detailed diagnostic, and contact Alarm Grid support if the problem continues.
Checking which WIFI network your IQ Panel 5 is connected to takes only a moment and confirms your system is using the network you intend on the IQ Panel 5.
