About Streaming Video to the IQ Remote

The IQ Remote is a secondary touchscreen keypad that pairs to the IQ Panel 5 (available in AT&T LTE and Verizon LTE) over your WIFI network, letting you arm, disarm, and control the system from another room without walking to the main panel. By default, camera video only appears on the primary panel. Enabling Stream Live Video Cameras to IQ Remote extends those live camera feeds to the remote keypads as well, so any camera streaming to the main panel also streams to the IQ Remote.

This is handy in a larger home where a second touchscreen sits in a bedroom, kitchen, or back entry. Instead of going to the main panel to see who is at the door or check a camera, you can view the live feed right from the nearest IQ Remote. It makes the camera features of your security system available at every keypad rather than just one. The setting is disabled by default, so you turn it on when you want this convenience.

Before You Begin

This setting is in the Installer Settings, which require the Installer Code (1111 by default) or Dealer Code (2222 by default). The steps below use the Installer Code. You need at least one IQ Remote paired to the panel over WIFI, and cameras already set up and streaming to the primary panel, since this setting extends an existing feed rather than adding cameras.

Stream Live Video to the IQ Remote

1. Swipe down and touch Settings. Swipe down from the top of the screen to open the Settings Tray, then touch SETTINGS.

2. Touch Advanced Settings and enter your Installer Code. Touch ADVANCED SETTINGS, then enter your Installer Code (1111 by default). The Dealer Code (2222) works here too. The panel advances automatically after a valid code.

3. Touch Installation, then Installer Settings. Touch INSTALLATION, then open INSTALLER SETTINGS and find the Stream Live Video Cameras to IQ Remote setting.

4. Enable the setting. Toggle Stream Live Video Cameras to IQ Remote on. Cameras that stream to the primary panel will now also stream to your paired IQ Remote keypads. Toggle it off here any time to keep video on the main panel only.

Tips

Because the video streams over your WIFI network, a strong, stable connection to each IQ Remote gives the smoothest playback, so keep that in mind if a remote is far from the router. This setting applies to all paired IQ Remotes at once rather than one at a time. If you want video only on the main panel to save bandwidth or for privacy on a shared keypad, simply leave this setting off, which is the default behavior.
