How Do I Disable the Fire Panic Button on the IQ5 Hub System?
To disable the Fire Panic button on the IQ5 Hub, go to Advanced Settings, Installation, Sirens and Alarms, then turn off Fire Panic. This setting is enabled by default on every panel, and turning it off removes the button from the Emergency Panic screen entirely and right away today.
What Turning Off Fire Panic Does
The IQ5 Hub (available in AT&T LTE and Verizon LTE) includes three panic buttons on the Emergency Panic screen by default: Police, Fire, and Auxiliary. Fire Panic is enabled out of the box, and touching it sends an immediate fire emergency signal to your monitoring center, the same as a triggered smoke detector would. Disabling this setting removes the Fire Panic button from the Emergency Panic screen entirely, rather than just graying it out or requiring extra confirmation to use it.
This is a manual panic trigger, separate from automatic fire detection through an actual smoke or heat detector on your security system. Disabling Fire Panic doesn't affect any enrolled smoke detectors, which continue to trigger a fire alarm automatically regardless of this setting. It only removes the manual button someone could press at the panel to trigger a fire emergency by hand.
How to Disable the Fire Panic Button
1. Swipe down from the top of the screen. This opens the Settings Tray with quick controls.
2. Touch Settings. This opens the main Settings page.
3. Touch Advanced Settings. This prompts you to enter a code before continuing.
4. Enter the Installer Code. The default Installer Code is 1111, though your account admin may have changed it to something else, like 2222.

5. Touch Installation. This opens the Installation menu, which lists Devices, Installer Settings, System Logs, Sirens and Alarms, Security and Arming, and Camera Settings.

6. Touch Sirens and Alarms. This opens the list of siren and panic-related settings, including Police Panic, Fire Panic, Auxiliary Panic, and Audible Siren for Wireless Supervisory Failures.
7. Find Fire Panic in the list. This setting is enabled by default, meaning the Fire Panic button currently appears on the Emergency Panic screen.
8. Turn off Fire Panic. Once disabled, the Fire Panic button no longer appears on the Emergency Panic screen.
Why You Might Disable This
Some households disable manual panic buttons they don't expect to use, reducing the chance of an accidental touch triggering a false fire dispatch. This is a reasonable choice if your property already has reliable automatic smoke detection and you'd rather not have a manual fire trigger available at all. Commercial installations sometimes disable Fire Panic specifically as part of a broader compliance configuration, where local fire code or an alarm company's standard setup calls for automatic detection only, without a manual panic option.
Police and Auxiliary Panic Are Separate Settings
Disabling Fire Panic has no effect on Police Panic or Auxiliary Panic, since each of the three panic buttons has its own independent enable and disable toggle in the same Sirens and Alarms menu. If your goal is to remove all three manual panic buttons rather than just Fire Panic, you'll need to disable each one separately rather than expecting one setting to control all three at once.
If Fire Panic Still Appears After Disabling It
If the Fire Panic button still shows on the Emergency Panic screen after turning this setting off, confirm the change actually saved before backing out of Sirens and Alarms, since some toggles need a moment to register. If you're checking the wrong screen, remember Emergency Panic is reached by touching the panic icon from the home screen, not through Settings, so make sure you're looking at the actual panic screen rather than a different menu when confirming the change took effect.
Weighing the Tradeoff Before Disabling
A manual panic button exists as a backup, useful in situations an automatic smoke detector might not catch quickly enough, like a fire starting somewhere without direct sensor coverage, or a scenario where someone notices smoke or fire before the detector itself registers it. Removing that manual option means relying entirely on automatic detection, which is generally reliable but not instantaneous in every situation. Before disabling Fire Panic, it's worth considering whether the accidental-touch risk you're trying to avoid outweighs the value of having a manual backup available during an actual emergency.
Disabling the Fire Panic button on the IQ5 Hub removes the manual trigger while leaving automatic smoke detector alarms fully intact on the IQ5 Hub.
