Description

The Honeywell 7670F is a mounting bracket for the AlarmNet GSM-ANT3DB weatherproof external antenna. The 7670F mounting bracket is included when you purchase the GSM-ANT3DB antenna, but can be purchased separately if needed.

The AlarmNet GSM-ANT3DB antenna is an invaluable item for people that do not have good cellular signal strength within their home. If you have an AlarmNet cellular alarm monitoring communicator like the Honeywell GSMV or an AlarmNet dual path alarm monitoring communicator like the Honeywell iGSMV, the communicator will need a strong wireless connection to the cellular GSM tower in your area. As the AlarmNet cellular alarm communicators use AT&T’s cellular GSM network, you can use the coverage viewer on AT&T's website to get a good idea of the cellular signal strength at your address. However, your house may have many environmental factors that reduce the open air cellular signal strength and prevent your AlarmNet communicator from properly connecting to the cellular network. Unfortunately, Honeywell does not currently offer an outdoor cellular alarm communicator that would solve this problem. Therefore, your only option is to add the GSM-ANT3DB weatherproof external antenna. The GSM-ANT3DB antenna has (3) different coax cables you can use to extend the cellular reception point of your AlarmNet alarm monitoring communicator. The 7626-5 coax cable provides 5’ of extension, the 7626-25HC coax cable provides 25’ of extension and the 7626-50HC is the longest coax cable with 50’ of extension. By adding either of the 7626-25HC or 7626-50HC coax cables, you should have enough extension to be able to mount the GSM-ANT3DB on the outside of your home, thereby eliminating any cellular interference caused by your home. The 7670F mounting bracket is a sturdy metal bracket that allows you to easily install the GSM-ANT3DB on the side of your home, or on a tall tree or pole, which would provide your cellular alarm communicator with good cellular signal strength.

You first need to connect the K14207LF adapter cable to the internal antenna of your AlarmNet alarm monitoring communicator. Then, you need to connect the WA7626-CA adapter cable to the K14207LF cable. Next, you connect whichever extension coax cable you choose to the WA7626-CA adapter cable. After mounting the 7670F, you feed the coax cable up through the bottom of the hole in the 7670F mounting bracket. The included installation nut should fit between the 7626 coax cable and the bracket. Finally, you connect the GSM-ANT3DB antenna to the 7626 coax cable with the 7670F bracket holding the GSM-ANT3DB securely into place. Alarm Grid recommends wrapping the connection between the antenna and the coax cable with the included silicone tape wrap so that the connection is waterproof. You will notice a dramatic increase in the cellular signal strength once you have added the GSM-ANT3DB antenna to your AlarmNet alarm monitoring communicator and installed it outside using the 7670F mounting bracket.

Great Mounting Bracket!

The Honeywell 7670F is the mounting bracket for the AlarmNet CELL-ANT3DB Outdoor Antenna. This mounting bracket is weather-resistant, and it is built for use in an outdoor environment. The Honeywell CELL-ANT3DB already comes with this mounting bracket, so you don't need to buy one separately. But if you ever need to replace the mounting bracket for whatever reason, then this is the product to get. Unfortunately, the Honeywell 7670F is discontinued, and it can no longer be purchased new. But if you can find a used one somewhere, then it should work just fine. Overall, the Honeywell 7670F does its job well, and it does not have many downsides. We give it a 5 Star rating.

There are many things we like about the Honeywell 7670F Antenna Mounting Bracket. For one, it is weather-resistant, and you should experience no issues using it outside. This is very important, as placing your cellular antenna outside on your roof is often the best way to achieve strong cellular reception. The mounting bracket is very sturdy, and it should keep your cellular antenna in the desired position when mounted properly. By positioning your cellular antenna where you want it, you are more likely to get good cellular reception. And as such, the Honeywell 7670F improves cellular reception.

There are not many downsides to the Honeywell 7670F. The most glaring weakness is that it is discontinued. You can no longer purchase a new 7670F mounting bracket from Honeywell. Also, you need to install the mounting bracket. This may be difficult for some DIY users, especially if the 7670F is being mounted on the roof. But these are just minor downsides to consider. We think the Honeywell 7670F is an excellent mounting bracket, and it gets 5 Stars from us.

Good: Weather-Resistant, Sturdy, Improves Cellular Reception

Bad: Discontinued, Must be Physically Installed

Bottom Line: 5 Stars
