How Do I Add a 2GIG Door and Window Sensor to the IQ Panel 5?

To add a 2GIG door and window sensor to the IQ Panel 5, install the IQ QC0005-840 345 MHz daughter card first. Go to Advanced Settings, Installation, Devices, Security Sensors, and touch Auto Learn. Open the sensor to send a signal, set Sensor Type to Door/Window, and choose a Sensor Group.

About the 2GIG-DW10-345

The IQ Panel 5 (available in AT&T LTE and Verizon LTE) is compatible with the 2GIG-DW10-345 door and window contact, a 345 MHz wireless surface-mount sensor that mounts on the door or window frame. Because it operates on the 345 MHz frequency, the IQ QC0005-840 345 MHz daughter card must be installed in the panel before enrollment. The sensor body mounts on the frame and the magnet mounts on the door or window. When the two pieces separate, the sensor sends a signal to the panel.

The Sensor Group you choose controls when the sensor is active and how the security system responds when it is triggered. Group 10 (Entry-Exit Normal Delay) gives you time to disarm after opening a main entry door. Group 12 (Entry-Exit Long Delay) provides a longer delay for garage entries. Group 13 (Instant Perimeter D/W) triggers an alarm the moment the sensor is tripped — ideal for windows and secondary doors that should never open while armed. All 345 MHz door and window sensors use Loop 1 only.

Steps to Add the Door and Window Sensor

1. Swipe down from the top of the screen and touch Settings. The Settings page opens.

4. Touch Auto Learn Sensor. The panel enters listening mode and waits for a 345 MHz signal.

5. Open the door or window where the sensor is installed. Separating the sensor body from the magnet sends a 345 MHz signal. The panel chimes and displays the DL ID. Source shows SRF345. Leave Loop at Loop 1 — the only option for 345 MHz door and window sensors.

6. Touch OK to confirm the sensor. The sensor configuration screen appears.

7. Set the Sensor Type to Door/Window, choose a Sensor Group and Name, then touch Add New. Use Group 10 for a main entry door, Group 12 for a longer-delay entry, or Group 13 for windows and secondary doors. Enter a descriptive name such as Front Door, Kitchen Window, or Back Gate and touch Add New.

After Adding the Sensor

Test the sensor after enrollment by opening and closing the door or window and confirming the panel responds. The DW10-345 is supervised — if the panel loses communication with the sensor, a trouble condition is generated. With a monitoring plan, every armed door or window event is reported to the central station. If you need a hidden installation with no visible hardware, the 2GIG-DWR100-345 recessed door contact mounts flush inside the door frame. Protect every entry point in the home with additional sensors.

Adding the 2GIG-DW10-345 to your IQ Panel 5 gives you wireless door and window protection at every entry point on the IQ Panel 5.
