Description

The 2GIG DW10 is a slim wireless door/window contact that communicates over the 345MHz RF frequency. The sensor supports two programmable loops: Loop 1 is mapped to a hardwired NC (Normally Closed) contact and loop 2 is a fully wireless solution. There is also a built-in reed switch designed to sense the included magnet when within 0.4 inches. This fully wireless function is programmed as loop 2. There is a pair of screw terminals inside the tamper cover where you can land a wired NC contact as well. You can use both loops if desired. The DW10 will protect anything that opens and closes such as a door, window, safe or cabinet. The slim design offers a versatile, aesthetically pleasing security solution for just about any entry point or valuable enclosure.

The DW10 is battery powered with Two (2) CR 2032 coin cell lithium batteries (included). It offers a robust RF signal which has a maximum RF range of 350 nominal feet (open air) from the wireless receiver or control panel. This is a surface mount contact that can be mounted with adhesive tape or screws. Ideally, the sensor (2.59 x 1.03 x 0.49 inches) should be mounted on the window frame or door jamb (non-moving part). Then the magnet (1.3 x 0.435 x 0.312 inches) is to be mounted to the door or window itself (moving part).

Just like any wireless contact, try to keep it away from metallic objects such as steel or aluminum doors and windows. If you are trying to protect a metal door/window with this sensor you will need to pad the unit out from the metallic object using thick foam adhesive tape. The thicker the better since you want to space the device away from the RF interference. Be sure to pad out both the sensor and magnet so they are on the same plane. There are also specialized steel door contacts if needed.

The Honeywell Lyric alarm system now supports this sensor with the release of the MR3 firmware update!

Yes, you could paint them black as long as the paint you use doesn't affect the sensors transmitting ability or the ability of the sensor to detect the magnet being in close proximity or not. I would suggest testing the sensor by holding it and the magnet up on the window/frame and then opening/closing the window to see if the panel detects the zone fault/restore before permanently mounting. That way, you'll know if you need a spacer or not.
Can these be painted black? If the window is wood inside, but aluminum clad, does it still need to be padded?
No, 2Gig wireless sensors are not compatible with a Honeywell wireless sensor. You'll need to use Honeywell 5800 Series sensors instead. The 5811 (https://www.alarmgrid.com/products/honeywell-5811 ) is an equivalent sensor that would work with your system.
Are these compatible with the Vista-20P with a 5881ENH?
