provided companion panel or console (the “Console”) (the
Pendant and Console/Panel are referred to as the “System”).
Through the use of an accelerometer, the Pendant
works to detect movement and body posi

consistent with a fall, and to signal the Console when
a fall is detected. If a fall is detected, the Console will
contact your monitoring service provider. In addi

The Pendant is small, lightweight, and water-resistant,
and is supplied with an adjustable breakaway release
lanyard intended for safe and comfortable wear.
This Pendent is compa

on of Pendant & General Use (cont.)
You must be within range of the Console in order
for the Pendant to communicate with the Console
and summon help when a fall is detected, or help is
otherwise manually summoned, or to communicate
that the Pendant ba
Ʃ
ery is low.
The opera
Ɵ
ng range of the Pendant is limited. The
exact range of a System depends on the type of
Console and other variables, such as the local radio
frequency environment. Depending on these factors,
range is expected to be approximately 300 to 500
feet line of sight. Range can be reduced by walls and
other barriers. You can ensure that you are in range
at any
Ɵ
me by pressing the bu
Ʃ
on to test the system.
Please refer to the instruc
Ɵ
ons included with your
Console and also found in the literature sec
Ɵ
on of
the following link for more informa
Ɵ
on regarding the
range of your System:
www.nortekcontrol.com/manual_list1.php.
The Pendant is sealed to provide water-resistance to
the IPx7 standard, so it can be worn in the shower or
bath.
Only the provided breakaway release lanyard should
be used; no other lanyard is approved for use with the
Pendant.
The Pendant is sealed and the ba
Ʃ
ery contained
therein is not replaceable. When the ba
Ʃ
ery in the
Pendant is low, the LED indicator on the Pendant
will display RED, and it is designed to send a signal
to the Console, which will communicate to your
monitoring service provider that your ba
Ʃ
ery is
low. Your monitoring service provider should then
contact you to coordinate delivery of a replacement
Pendant.
As a precau
Ɵ
onary measure, in order to
ensure that the ba
Ʃ
ery does not deplete before you
receive a replacement Pendant, if you see that the
light on your Pendant is RED, you should contact
your monitoring service provider to arrange for a
replacement pendant as soon as possible – do not
wait for the monitoring service provider to contact
you.
Fall Detec
Ɵ
on
When the Pendant detects a poten
Ɵ
al fall, it is designed
to automa
Ɵ
cally send a signal to the Console. If the
user does not manually cancel the signal as outlined
below, the Console will send an “Emergency” report
to your monitoring service provider. The System will
provide a siren and spoken voice prompts to alert the
user that the “Emergency” call is being placed.
Although the fall detec
Ɵ
on System performs well,
no such System is 100% accurate and the Pendant
may not detect certain falls. Therefore, if you fall or
require assistance at any
Ɵ
me for any reason, always
manually push the Help Bu
Ʃ
on and do not wait for
the System to automa
Ɵ
cally place the call. To ensure
sending a complete signal, press the Pendant’s Help
Bu
Ʃ
on for a minimum of 2 seconds. See below for
further instruc
Ɵ
ons on manual ac
Ɵ
va
Ɵ
on.
The Pendant is designed to allow users to move
through most rou
Ɵ
ne movements without triggering
a fall event and without sending a false emergency
report to the monitoring service provider. The Pendant
is not designed, however, to be used while exercising.
Vigorous movements such as jumping, or movements
that cause the Pendant to swing and stop abruptly,
may trigger the fall detector to send an emergency
report. Users should talk with their caregivers and
monitoring service provider about the most e
ff
ec
Ɵ
ve
use of the System for their individual ac
Ɵ
vi
Ɵ
es.
Manual Ac
Ɵ
va
Ɵ
on
The Pendant can also be manually ac
Ɵ
vated by pressing
the Help Bu
Ʃ
on when help is needed.
To ensure
sending a complete signal, press the Pendant’s Help
Bu
Ʃ
on for a minimum of 2 seconds.
The System will
provide a siren and spoken voice prompts to alert the
user that the “Emergency” call is being placed.
Canceling an Emergency Report
Some rou
Ɵ
ne ac
Ɵ
vi
Ɵ
es that are not fall events may
falsely trigger the fall detector to send an “Emergency”
report. Or similarly, you may fall but may be able to get
up, and not require emergency assistance. In either
case, you can cancel the emergency report by either
con
fi
rming during the two-way voice veri
fi
ca
Ɵ
on with
the monitoring service provider that you do not need
assistance, or otherwise contac
Ɵ
ng the monitoring
service provider to cancel the emergency.

Important Safety and Ba
Ʃ
ery Instruc
Ɵ
ons
Test this System weekly:
If the Pendant ba
Ʃ
ery is
depleted, or the Console is not connected, the System
will not be able to detect a fall or communicate the
need for assistance. We strongly recommend that
you test this equipment at least weekly to ensure the
System is working properly. To test the System, press
the Help Bu
Ʃ
on on your Pendant and make sure that
you get a verbal response from your monitoring service
provider over the two-way voice veri
fi
ca
Ɵ
on. If you do
not get a verbal response, call your monitoring service
provider to report the problem and arrange for service.
For further informa
Ɵ
on on tes
Ɵ
ng and the opera
Ɵ
on
of the System, consult the more detailed instruc
Ɵ
ons
contained in the literature sec
Ɵ
on of the following link:
www.nortekcontrol.com/manual_list1.php.
Also see informa
Ɵ
on above regarding Ba
Ʃ
ery
Supervisor Feature. Note that use of this feature is
NOT a subs
Ɵ
tute for weekly tes
Ɵ
ng of the Pendant.
The opera
Ɵ
ng range of the Pendant is limited. In order
for the Pendant’s low ba
Ʃ
ery signal to be communicated
the Console and the monitoring service provider, it must
be within range. If the Pendant is out of range for an
extended period of
Ɵ
me, it is possible that the Pendant
ba
Ʃ
ery could die without being able to e
ff
ec
Ɵ
vely
communicate a low ba
Ʃ
ery signal to the Console and
your monitoring service provider. Therefore, you should
not take the Pendant out of range.
IMPORTANT: TO REDUCE THE
RISK OF SEVERE INJURY OR
DEATH TO PERSONS, REVIEW
THIS SAFETY INFORMATION
PRIOR TO USE.
• Emergency Repor
Ɵ
ng Systems such as this are not
a replacement for regular contact with caregivers
or access to an alterna
Ɵ
ve means of placing an
emergency call.
• To ensure the System is working properly, make sure
to test it weekly.
• Do not take the Pendant out of range.
• While the fall detec
Ɵ
on System performs well, no
such System is 100% reliable. If you experience a
fall that causes actual or poten
Ɵ
al injury or other
emergency, do not wait for the automa
Ɵ
c call. You
should
always
press the Help Bu
Ʃ
on manually in an
emergency or any
Ɵ
me you need help.
• Usage other than as directed may result in the
inability to place a call, automa
Ɵ
cally detect a fall,
and/or properly locate you automa
Ɵ
cally during an
emergency.
• Do not modify or dismantle the Pendant or Console
at any
Ɵ
me, as this could a
ff
ect its func
Ɵ
onality.
The ba
Ʃ
ery is not designed to be removed or
replaced (see Ba
Ʃ
ery Informa
Ɵ
on above for more
details). There is a risk of explosion if the ba
Ʃ
ery is
tampered with, replaced with an incorrect type, or
manipulated in any way.

WARNING
The Pendant may be worn around the neck
on an adjustable lanyard.
IF YOU WEAR THE
LANYARD AROUND YOUR NECK AND IT BECOMES
ACCIDENTALLY ENTANGLED, AS WITH ANY CORD
WORN AROUND THE NECK, IT MAY PRESENT A
CHOKING OR STRANGULATION HAZARD THAT
COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.
FOR THIS REASON, USE ONLY THE PROVIDED
BREAKAWAY LANYARD. TO REDUCE RISK OF
STRANGULATION, THE PROVIDED LANYARD IS
DESIGNED TO BREAK APART UNDER CERTAIN
CONDITIONS. MODIFIED, OR OTHER LANYARDS,
ARE NOT TO BE USED.
These risks apply especially to
subscribers who may use wheelchairs, walkers, beds
with guard rails, or similar objects such as door knobs
with protrusions on which a lanyard could become
entangled. Users and caregivers should exercise care
with the lanyard to ensure it does not get caught or
tangled in some such equipment or other objects.
