Chair Sensor with Qolsys Transmitter
Overview
Chair sensors are commonly used to detect how much time a loved one is sitting in their favorite chair during the day.
Features and specifications

Water-resistant, antimicrobial nylon cloth

Uses 2-AAA batteries

Battery life is 2+ years
•
Minimum 50 pound
subject directly above mat is required to activate the sensor

Do not machine wash
•
Wipe down with moistened cloth (i.e., water and soap or mild disinfectant) and wipe dry to clean

Programming
To program the Chair Sensor
locally:
1.
Place the IQ Panel in Auto Learn
mode.
2.
Pull the tab from the battery or press and hold the red button on the transmitter for five
seconds until red LED
illuminates, then release to enroll the sensor.
3.
The panel will chime and display the sensor's DL code. Press
OK
to confirm.

Sensor using the Partner Portal:
1.
Log into the Partner Portal.
2.
Find the customer account.
3.
Click
Equipment

4.
Click
Sensors
.

Sensor Management

Add a Sensor

6.
For
Sensor ID
, enter an unused ID.
7.
For
Sensor Type
, select
Occupancy
.
8.
For
Group
, select
25
.
9.
Name the sensor.
10.
Enter the six-digit DL code found
on the barcode label of the sensor or of the sensor box.
11.
Select the RF Type according to the frequency of the sensor.
12.
Click
Add Sensor
.
To program the Chair
Sensor using the MobileTech app:
1.
Log into the MobileTech app.
2.
Find the customer account.
3.
Tap
Equipment
.
4.
Tap
Sensors
.
5.
Tap to expand
Sensor Actions
.
6.
Tap
Add a Sensor
.
7.
For
Sensor ID
, enter an unused ID.
8.
For
Sensor Type
, select
Occupancy
.
9.

Group

10.
Name the sensor.
11.
Enter the six-digit DL code found
on the barcode label of the sensor or of the sensor box.
12.
Select the RF Type according to the frequency of the sensor.

Sensor placement
•
Locate sensor within 100 feet of the base station.
•
Place sensor on a commonly used chair or couch.
•
Place the sensor on top of chair cushion (or below if the cushio.n is thin) with the dark blue side facing up.

Position directly under where the user is expected to sit

Place under a thin cushion to improve comfort.
•
Tuck transmitter and any excess cable beneath the cushion.
•
Test by applying weight directly on the mat for several seconds. It may take 8-10 seconds for activity to register.
•
View the Event History page on the Partner Portal or MobileTech app to confirm sensor activity.
