battery (P/N LYNXRCHKIT-SHA) is installed.

Entering Programming Mode

You may find it convenient to adjust the volume setting before entering the Programming Mode. This
will allow you to clearly hear feedback announcements or system beeps.
1. Power-up the control and allow it to “boot-up”. “System Standby” is displayed on the touch screen. When the
“boot-up” is complete (approximately 1-2 minutes) “Ready to Arm” is displayed.
2. Select the “Security” icon.
3. Select the “More” tab on the first page of the Security Screen.
4. Select “Tools” icon.
5. Enter the Installer Code (4 + 1 + 1 + 2) on the displayed keypad.
5. The Installer Tools menu screen appears. Select the “Program” button. “System Programming…” is displayed
and on the L5200, the “Armed” and “Ready” LEDs (L5200) flash. On the L7000 the “Panic” button is lit and
the “Home” button alternately flashes red and green.
6. Select one of the following options to advance to that Programming screen:

Note: If a different Installer Code has been programmed, enter: the New Installer Code.
Programming the Data Fields
1. Select each desired programming option, and then select the required entry. The system beeps each time
a selection is made.
2. The system will toggle or scroll through the options or display a new screen as applicable for the specific
option.
3. To delete or change an entry, simply select the desired option, and then select the required entry.
Loading a Default Set:
1. Enter the Installer Programming Mode and advance to second page of the System Programming.
2. Select ‘Default Config’ and select the appropriate Default Configuration from the following options or Select
Default Downloader to reset all subscriber account numbers and CSID in preparation for an initial download:

Note: Refer to the Programming Default Values section of this manual to view the default values.
Exiting Programming Mode:
1. Select the “” key to exit the current screen. The system returns to the previous screen.
2. Select the “” key as required until system displays a Confirmation screen.
3. Select “Yes” to allow the installer to re-enter Programming mode or “No” to prevent re-entry.
4. Select the “” key again to return to the Security Screen OR depress the Home button to return to the Home
Screen.

Serial Number
When “Serial Number” has been selected “Enter Serial Number or Activate” is displayed. The
transmitter serial number and loop number can be enrolled via RF transmission OR
manually.

Enroll via RF Learning To enroll the device using RF Learning mode three transmissions
(open/close) of the device will be required. The initial transmission activates the RF Learning
mode and the system will emit a single beep. A second transmission enrolls the serial
number and the system beeps two times and displays “Activate Sensor Again To Confirm”. A

third transmission will confirm the serial number. The system beeps two times and returns to
the Zone programming Screen.
Enroll Manually
Enter the 7-digit serial number printed on the transmitter using the displayed keypad and
select “Done”. The system beeps one time and returns to the Zone programming Screen.

Communication Status - Provides a status of the IP or Cellular communications paths and performs a self-test of the
advanced encryption standard (AES) algorithm.
Message Function
GSM OR IP: Displays Network Connectivity status
Encryption: Displays result of encryption test (Pass or Fail)
AlarmNet Registration: Displays Account Registration status

Ethernet Information - Displays IP information if the IP Communication Path is enabled.

Physical Link: Confirms physical link connection and speed
DHCP: Displays status of server
NIC IP Address: Displays the communication device’s assigned IP address
Subnet Mask:
Displays the 32-bit address mask used to indicate the portion (bits) of the
IP address that is being used for the subnet address

DNS Server IP Address: Displays the IP address assigned to the DNS server

GSM Information - Displays GSM information if the GSM communication path is enabled and the device is registered.

Test Communication - Performs network diagnostics and sends test alarms to the network. The following tests are
available depending on the type of communications module installed.

Send Cellular Message: Available if Cellular communication path is enabled
Test Ethernet: Available if IP communication path is enabled
Send Ethernet Message: Available if IP or WiFi communication path is enabled
Test Any: Available if IP or WiFi and Cellular communication path is enabled

Setup Communication – Registers the LYNX Touch and its associated communication module, update configuration files
or reset factory defaults.
Selection Function
Download Config File: The device configuration file will be downloaded
Update Server: The communication device uploads its configuration to the server
Factory Defaults: The communication device is reset to factory default values
WiFi Stats – Displays WiFi Specific Diagnostics information (Not intended for Installer use)
