Alarm Controls RP-28

The Alarm Controls RP-28 is a single-gang stainless steel wall plate that features a 1/4" red LED light in its center. It can utilize power options of either 12VDC or 24VDC. The LED light current draw for the RP-28 is rated at 8mA. The device features 6" red and black leads on its back.

Customers often want some type of external indication that their system is armed. the Alarm Controls RP-28 can be used for that purpose. By mounting the Red LED in a location where it is visible from outside, and then tying it to a programmable output from the system, a customer will be able to tell if their system is armed or not simply by checking the LED. Normally, if the Red LED is lit, the system is armed. If the Red LED is off, the system is disarmed.

Different panels have different programmable output options. For example, the VISTA-20P panels have a specific output program for a key switch red LED. If the RP-28 is programmed with this logic, and then tied to either a trigger or a relay output with power, it will light solid when the system is armed Away or Stay (after exit delay has expired). It will flash rapidly in the event of an Alarm or Alarm Memory and flash slowly during exit delay. Other panels will have different logic options for programmable outputs that can be used with the RP-28.

Some panels will have triggers, relays and Z-Wave devices available to program as outputs. Other panels may only have one or another of these options. Be sure to check with User Guide and/or Programming Guide for your alarm panel to see what output options are available with your alarm system.
