End users looking for a PowerG recessed contact now have their answer with the DSC PG9307. This small, yet powerful, sensor is ideal for those looking to achieve an aesthetically pleasing installation. As a recessed contact, the sensor will not be visible when the door or window is closed.
Like all PowerG Sensors, the DSC PG9307 operates at 915 MHz. It is compatible with the DSC PowerSeries Neo Panels, the DSC Iotega, and all versions of the IQ Panel 2 Plus. The sensor includes an ultra-thin magnet (2mm) that can be installed without drilling a hole. Only the sensor itself needs to be inserted into the door or window frame. The sensor casing measures in at 2.66" by 0.75".
When the door or window is closed, the sensor and magnet will be in very close proximity or direct contact. Opening the door or window will cause the magnet to become separated from the PG9307. The sensor will then send an encrypted 915 MHz signal to alert the security panel. It features a convenient learn button for fast and easy auto-enrollment.
Thanks to PowerG technology, the sensor will communicate from up to 2km away in open air when used with certain alarm systems. The DSC PG9920 PowerG Repeater is available if you need to extend the range. The device uses a 3V CR-2 lithium battery, and it has a battery life of 10 years with average use. It weighs 25g with the battery installed. The sensor is safe for use in temperatures ranging from 14°F to 122°F.
NOTE: The maximum range for a PowerG Sensor when used with an IQ Panel 2 Plus System is only 2,000 feet in open air. This is considerably less than the advertised 2km range. The 2km range refers to when a PowerG Sensor is used with a DSC PowerSeries NEO System.
