Description

The DT906 is a feature-rich, long range, Dual-tec (Microwave and Passive Infrared) motion detector with a selectable coverage area of 200 feet by 15 feet or 120 feet by 10 feet. This motion has a PIR Anti-mask feature that sends a pulsing infrared beam out into the field of view every 8 seconds. If the PIR is masked, the IR beam will be reflected back. After 2 consecutive bounce-backs, the unit will signal a trouble condition, the red and green LED’s will flash, and the normally closed “Mask Detect” circuit will open. In addition to anti-mask, the DT906 has a zero clearance bug-guard to keep the creepy-crawlers out..

The INFORMER® circuit, counts the activations on each technology, Microwave and PIR, and uses the resulting ratio to determine if each technology is working properly, and if they are adjusted properly. If the unit detects a problem, it will still be active, and will still activate the alarm relay if motion is detected. The unit performs the INFORMER® self-test upon power up, upon input from the installer, and every hour during normal operation. When a self-test error occurs, all three LED’s will flash, and the normally closed Trouble relay will be opened until the condition is resolved.

The motion also has a cover and mounting bracket tamper with a separate normally closed output. It has advanced temperature compensation technology, which adjusts every 30 seconds based on the ambient temperature in the room for better protection, as well as false alarm immunity.

The alarm relay is form C (Common, Normally Open, Normally Closed) with separate EOL terminals so you don’t have to solder resistors into the circuit. The alarm relay has a contact rating of up to 25VDC and 125mA. Power consumption is 50mA Max (at 12VDC).

Are you planning to have this as a standalone light or are you tying it into a security system? Does the light you plan to use have the ability to be triggered by a normally closed loop?
I am designing an outdoor security light that incorporates motion detection. It detect motion of humans and vehicles around the light. What sensors would you recommend?
