Description

The Honeywell FG1625F is a flush mounted glass break detector which listens for the frequency of broken glass. Glass break sensors like the FG1625F provide protection for your windows that can detect an intruder prior to their entry into the premises by activating as soon as a pane of glass is broken. This allows you to have your system armed in stay mode while still knowing the entire perimeter of your property including your windows are protected.

The Honeywell FG1625F is equipped with Honeywell’s FlexCore signal processor which processes data faster and more accurately, improving detection and diminishing false alarms. The FG1625F is compatible with all glass types up to a thickness of 10mm. With its flush mount casing, the FG1625F is designed to seamlessly mount to any single gang electrical box, blending into the room just like a light switch or socket plate. A 45 degree terminal block makes connecting the standard 4-wires for glass break detectors easier than ever. After wiring and mounting, a hand-clap feature verifies that the FG1625F is working. It is recommended to use a FG701 glass break simulator to ensure that you have mounted the sensor within range and good acoustic environment.

The Honeywell FG1625F is also sensitivity selectable. At its maximum, the glass break detector has a range of 25 feet from the protected pane. By adjusting two DIP switches located on the circuit board, the FG1625F can be adjusted down through four sensitivity levels, down to a lowest sensitivity which will cover glass up to 5 feet away. Make sure to mount the glass break detector with the microphone facing the intended protected glass, and minimize interference due to partitions, furniture and drapes, which can all cut down on the range or diminish the effectiveness of the FG1625F.

Glass break protection has never been easier or more pleasing to the eye that it is with Honeywell’s FG1625F flush mount sensor.

Great Wired Glass Break!
Submitted on 09/17/2020 Alarm Grid

The Honeywell FG1625F is a wired flush-mount glass break detection sensor. This sensor has a built-in microphone that is finely tuned and specifically designed to detect the sound of glass breaking. It uses Honeywell's FlexCore signal processor to respond to glass break events accurately. This prevents false alarms due to the sensor responding to similar sounds. This is a reliable wired glass break sensor that can be used nicely with nearly any wired system or wired to wireless converter module. We give the Honeywell FG1625F a 5-Star rating.

There are many positive aspects regarding the Honeywell FG1625F. For one, it can be used with nearly any type of glass. As long as the glass is 10mm thick or less, then it should work fine with the Honeywell FG1625F. The sensor has a nice detection range of 25 feet, which gives you flexibility in choosing a mounting location. You can even use it to monitor multiple glass windows if placed strategically. Just remember that the sensor must have a direct line of sight to any window it is monitoring. The Honeywell FG1625F also has DIP switches so that you can set the sensitivity for the sensor. We also like the fact that the sensor has a special "hand-clap" feature that you can use to verify that it is working properly.

There are not many downsides for the Honeywell FG1625F. As a hardwired sensor, it must be wired to the panel or a compatible wired to wireless converter. This can be inconvenient, especially if you are not used to wiring. It's also important to note that the sensor will draw up to 22mA of current from the panel. This is not a large amount of power, but you should still consider it in your current calculation. Overall, the Honeywell FG1625F earns a 5-Star score.

Good: Works w/ Most Types of Glass, 25-Feet Detection Range, Monitor Multiple Windows, Sensitivity Adjustments, Hand-Clap Feature

Bad: Must Be Wired, Draws Powerr From Panel

Bottom Line: 5 Stars

The line of "Yes, it can be used with the Vista 20 but you will need a wireless receiver." above is incorrect. The FG1625 is a wired device and therefore would not need a wireless receiver to work with a VISTA-20P.
The Honeywell FG1625 is a glass break detector and the Honeywell FG1625F is a flush mounted glass break detector which listens for the frequency of broken glass. Yes, it can be used with the Vista 20 but you will need a wireless receiver.
What is the difference between FG1625 and FG1625F? Also, will either work with my old school Vista 20 Honeywell system? Thank you.
