Honeywell P3422-2

The Honeywell P3422-2 Cam Lock Clip is necessary when ordering the Honeywell N6277V1 Cam Lock. This clip holds the cam lock in place, which allows it to secure the cover of the VISTA panel's metal enclosure. Without this piece, the N6277V1 cam lock will not stay in place.

Each VISTA control panel comes with a hardware packet. Inside the hardware packet are mounting screws, plastic stand-offs, resistors, and various other pieces required to complete the panel installation. A cam lock is included with each system. However, some installers choose not to install the cam lock, opting instead for screwing the metal cover for the panel enclosure into place.

This is not only ugly, but it also makes it more difficult and time-consuming to access the alarm panel in the event that maintenance or updates are needed. On top of that, it's not particularly secure. If you find you have one of these systems, then you may opt to purchase and install your own cam lock. The cam lock fits into an oblong knockout on the right front of the metal enclosure lid. Once you've removed the knockout using a hammer and screwdriver, or similar implement, you can then insert the cam lock and clip it into place. The clip offered here is used for that purpose and works in conjunction with the Honeywell N6277V1 to secure the metal enclosure lid. Each cam lock comes with a key.
