Ubiquiti INS-3AF-O-G
Instant Outdoor PoE Converter
Description
The Ubiquiti INS-3AF-O-G is an outdoor Power over Ethernet (PoE) converter that helps you power Ubiquiti devices using standard 802.3af switches. Think of it like a middleman: you connect your switch with PoE input, and INS-3AF-O-G converts that power into 24V passive PoE to feed a compatible device. This is especially helpful when your device needs 24V passive PoE but your switch only provides 802.3af power.
Because it's made for outdoor use, the INS-3AF-O-G is built tough. It has protection from moisture and weather on its PoE input port, thanks to a cable gland and a sealing end cap. It also includes protection against surges and electrostatic discharge, so lightning or weird voltage spikes are less likely to damage the connected gear.
Installation is pretty easy. Attach the Ethernet cable from the 802.3af switch into the “PoE In” port, and then run the “PoE Out” cable to the device needing power at 24V. The converter is rated for use in harsh temperatures — from cold winters to hot summers — so it's reliable outdoors. It supports gigabit Ethernet speeds, which ensures good data throughput over the network.
If you need to install cameras, access points, or other Ubiquiti gear in places far from power sources, this converter gives you flexibility and ensures your setup stays tidy and safe.
