Encrypted/Unencrypted Mode Switch
The detector is capable of transmitting signals in encrypted mode or non-
encrypted mode. The mode is set through a switch inside the detector (see
Figure 3). By default, the factory setting is non-Encrypted mode. To change to
Encrypted mode:
1
Remove the top plastic housing and remove the battery from the board.
2
Locate the dip switch (see Figure 3) and note the switch setting: ON
indicates encrypted, and 1 is non-encrypted mode.
3
Move the switch position to ON for encrypted mode.
4
Reinsert the battery and insert the board back into the housing.
If the detector was previously learned into a panel in a different mode,
reset the zone and re-learn in the detector. If applicable, enter the detector
equipment code in sensor zone programming.
Programming
The following steps describe general guidelines for programming (learning) the
detector into the alarm control panel memory. For more details, refer to the
2GIG Panel Installation & Programming Instructions
.
1
Put the panel into sensor Learn mode.
2
Pull battery pull tab or power cycle the detector to start auto learn with a
panel.
Installing the Detector
The 2GIG-FTD100-345 Flood and Temperature Detector can be easily placed
in any location. Place the device in locations that have the potential of water
leaks or flooding. If placed specifically under a potential leak sour
ce, use the
included optional double sided
adhesive tape to secure it in the
desired location (see Figure 4).
Metal contacts (see Figure 5)
on the top and bottom of the
device can detect the presence
of water. Be certain to place the
detector in a manner that does
not impede the detector’s ability
to detect water.
NOTE:
Do not place on a metal
or conductive surface.
For example:
•
Under sink pipes and under
or near your dishwasher
•
Adjacent to water heaters,
toilets, bathtubs, or
showers
•
Near the washer and dryer

General Information
The 2GIG-FTD100-345 is a fully supervised, one-way 345 MHz detector. It
will detect wet or dry floor conditions as well as the ambient temperatur
e. The
detector reports wet/dry conditions and when specific temperature thresholds
are exceeded. The detector offers flexible signal transmission options,
supporting both encrypted and non-encrypted modes, and is compatible with
2GIG wireless alarm systems.
Installation & Mounting Guidelines
Flood Conditions
Once the detector contacts detect the presence of water, the integrated
transmitter will immediately send a loop 1 wet alarm transmission to the panel.
The detector will also send a restore (dry) report when the presence of water is
no longer detected after one (1) minute. The detector is capable of detecting
clean or dirty fresh water, salt water, and tap water.
The 2GIG-FTD100-345 utilizes a unique design that can detect leaks dripping
onto its top or if there is water under the device. This dual sensing technology
is perfect for placement under P traps or hoses that may leak, giving a warning
just as the leak starts. If a leak occurs at a different location, it will also be
detected when the water is sensed under the device.
Temperature Conditions
Heat:
•
If the temperature is more than 95° F (35°C) for five (5) minutes, the
sensor will send a loop 2 transmission.
•
If the temperature is less than 95°F (35°C) for five (5) minutes, the sensor
will send a loop 2 clear.
Cold:
•
If the temperature is less than 41°F (5°C) for five (5) minutes, the sensor
will send a loop 1 transmission.
•
In the temperature is more than 41°F (5°C) five (5) minutes, the sensor will
send a loop 1 clear.
