The 2GIG DEMOKIT is an alarm system kit that includes the 2GIG Go!Control GC2 Wireless All-In-One (AIO) System, a 2GIG CT100 Z-Wave Thermostat, a door and window contact and a security key fob. This kit is ideal for alarm system dealers who want to test the GC2 and learn its functionality.
While the 2GIG DEMOKIT could be used by end users, they would usually be better off purchasing a more-robust kit. Most users will require more than a single door and window contact for achieving a reliable security setup. They will also typically want a motion sensor and a Honeywell LT-Cable for powering the system as well. There are also better Z-Wave thermostats than the CT100, most notably the Honeywell T6 Smart Thermostat. A cellular module add-on will also be needed for reliable communication with the Alarm.com servers.
But for dealers who need to test the basic functionality of a 2GIG GC2 System, the demo kit will usually get the job done. By using the included door and window contact, a user can learn how to enroll sensors with the system and better understand the programming menus. The CT100 Z-Wave Thermostat will provide a small taste of Z-Wave functionality. And the security key fob can be useful for understanding that type of on-site panel operation and for performing quick system commands. But remember, an Alarm.com cellular communicator will be needed for getting the system connected with Alarm.com. This is required for any type of real monitoring setup.
