DSC PGTEMP-PROBE is a temperature probe accessory for a DSC PG9905 PowerG Temperature Detection Sensor. The probe connects to the DSC PG9905 so that the sensor can monitor areas it otherwise couldn't, such as a walk-in freezer that's too cold for the sensor, or the outside of a building.

A rather big limitation with the standalone DSC PG9905 PowerG Temperature Sensor is that it cannot be used in extreme temperatures. It also cannot be used outside where it will be exposed to the elements. But if you attach the DSC PGTEMP-PROBE to the PG9905 Sensor, then you can effectively monitor locations that would otherwise be unsuitable for mounting the sensor.

The DSC PGTEMP-PROBE measures eleven inches long (11"), and the wire leads that come off the probe are six inches long (6"). It is possible to extend the wire leads using your own wire if needed for the application. Also, it may be possible to make the probe waterproof by dipping its end into silicone. However, this is not listed as an official use of the device, and it may void any warranty. Please note that operating temperature ranges from -22°F to 140°F.
