ELK-130

The ELK-130 is a high powered siren driver. It is an extremely loud, industrial grade siren driver. It comes encases in a plastic enclosure. The ELK-130 can provide a yelp or a steady output of over 500 watts. It has fused, dual-connection battery wires for backup via a sealed lead battery.

The ELK-130 provides two selectable sound patterns. It can produce a sweeping yelp or a steady alarm tone. The Yelp and Steady inputs can be connected to switched positive alarm outputs from a control panel. If both inputs are triggered at the same time, the Steady input takes priority over the Yelp input.

The driver operates from a 12 to 24 VDC power source. Its trigger inputs accept 9 to 24 VDC. The power source and trigger source can be separate, allowing the ELK-130 to be powered independently from the control panel that activates it. This can be useful when a security system does not have enough power available for a high-current siren application.

The ELK-130 is rated for speaker loads down to 1 Ohm. Each connected speaker should be rated for at least 20 watts. The driver can support multiple speakers when they are wired in parallel and the total speaker load remains within the driver's ratings. At 12 VDC, current draw ranges from 1.5 amps with an 8 Ohm load to 12 amps with a 1 Ohm load.

Heavy-duty terminals are provided for the power and speaker connections. The ELK-130 also includes fused dual-connection battery wires, allowing a backup battery to supply both the security control and the siren driver. A status LED provides an indication of operating condition. A slow blink indicates normal operation, while a rapid blink indicates a power problem such as over-current, over-voltage, or under-voltage.

The ELK-130 driver is mounted inside a white plastic enclosure. Its compact driver module measures 5.13 by 4 by 1.06 inches. The complete enclosure measures 6.5 by 4.375 by 2 inches. The ELK-130 is RoHS compliant and includes the mounting hardware needed for installation.
