Submitted on 12/19/2019 Alarm Grid
The GRI 2600 is a hardwired flood sensor that is designed for use with wired security systems. It can be mounted anywhere that is prone to a water leak or a flood, as long as you can run a wire back to the main panel. The sensor uses a 4-wire connection, with two (2) wires for the zone and two (2) wires for power. The sensor was introduced at a time when there were not many hardwired flood sensors available. However, it still holds up quite well today. It is a great choice if you are looking for a hardwired flood sensor. We give this product 5 Stars.
There are many things to like about the GRI 2600. It uses two (2) metal probes for detecting any liquid. The sensor responds to leaks quite reliably when it is mounted in a good location. This makes it a trustworthy and reliable flood sensor that you can count on if you need your security system to know quickly about a water leak or potential flood. Remember, responding to leaks quickly is crucial if you want to make sure that no costly flood damage occurs. The sensor is also quite compact, and it doesn't take up much space. This give you great flexibility in choosing a mounting location.
There are not many downsides to the GRI 2600. The most obvious is that it needs to be wired back to the panel. Fishing wires through walls can be a tough task for many DIYers, and many users will prefer to make things easier by using wireless sensors. But if you don't mind the wiring process, and you can find a good location for the sensor, then the GRI 2600 is an outstanding wired flood sensor. The GRI 2600 gets 5 Stars from Alarm Grid.
