Hey, DIYers. Dylan here with Alarm Grid. Today, we're going to review how do I add more time or how do I adjust my exit delay on my GC Touch Panel. So what you'll do this for is mainly if you just need more time to leave. So we'll show when you arm the system, you're going to have an option to quickly add more time. And then we'll go into the settings a bit and show how to adjust that even further.

All right. So we have our panel. So we will go ahead and arm it. We can do arm away or arm stay. For this, I will do arm away. And I'm going to do silent arming. We don't need to listen to the beeping. And then since we are doing arm away, I'll go ahead and activate my front door sensor, just to make sure the system knows that we've left the house and it can go into arm away.

So we have plenty of time here. But say we left the home. We forgot something. We need to go back inside. Say, we're on the lower timer or we just want add more time anyway, we have the very easy to spot and very easy to access, add 30 seconds. You only have one option to do that. So when you do it, that'll give you 30 more seconds.

If you obviously, if you still need more time, you can abort. That's going to disarm the system. And then you just have to rearm later on. So we'll go ahead and abort, then enter your code.

Now, I'll show how to access the menu so we can adjust the timer permanently So we have the panel disarmed. We will go into Settings. Enter in the installer code, 1561. Go to Advanced Settings, System Settings. And then here, so we have a few options that we can go through. But what we're looking for is the exit delay. Let's see here.

All right. So as you see, you have the options to change it for away or stay. So our exit delay time is set at 1 minute. That's for arm away. If we want to adjust that, we can. Highest is two minutes. Lowest is 45 seconds.

And arm stay, same thing. Exit delay time, 45, one minute, two minutes. So you can adjust it there, save it. And then depending on how you arm the system, it will follow that new countdown timer.

So some other options that we have just to quickly go over because it's related to the exit delay. So one is auto stay. So when I was arming the system before, I made sure to open, close my front door, so the system can go to arm away. That's what this feature is right here.

So auto stay, if it's enabled, that means if I say I armed away, but I did not open and close that front door, the system thinks I'm still in the home, so it will change from arm away to arm stay. That way, if I'm walking around, I'm not setting off any motion sensors accidentally.

If you do not want that, you can simply tap that and disable. Exit time, restart. So this will allow the triggering of that front door sensor during the countdown to essentially restart the amount of time that you have before the system is armed. By default, that is disabled. But if you would like that to be enabled, you have the option right there.

And quick exit. Quick exit will give you an option on the screen for a 60-second countdown. So instead of the add 30 seconds, so if you would like that option, you have it right there. If not, it's going to follow whatever option or whatever time you have set in the exit delay.

So that is how you adjust the exit time on the GC Touch Panel. Again, we went over how to-- that simple add 30 more seconds option that you're going to get by default, how you can adjust the timer itself when you go into Settings. And some other features with the time, the quick exit, the auto stay, other features that you'll definitely want to familiarize yourself with when you are arming your system.
