Downloading Photos & Snapshots in Total Connect

Transcript

Hi, DIYers. This is Frank at Alarm Grid. Today we're going to be showing you how to download snapshots or the camera photos from your Lyric controller using Total Connect 2.0. Today we'll be showing you how to do this through the web interface on a-- we're going to be using Chrome today, but it will be the same process in any browser you're using at home. So we'll first transition over to our web interface, and we'll visit www.totalconnect2.com. And we'll get to the login screen here. This is a paid service you'll need to sign up with a Honeywell dealer for, so make sure you do that in advance. After you have gotten the e-mails from your dealer with the ability to set up your password, go ahead and use the password you've created, and log in to your Total Connect account. Once we get logged in here, I'll show you the setting that needs to be enabled for the snapshots to be captured on your Lyric controller. The Lyric controller is a all-in-one wireless security system. And it has a small, little pinhole camera on the top of the display, the touchscreen display, that can be enabled to create snapshots that will upload to Total Connect, store on the Cloud, and then be downloaded by you, as the end user. So the first setting you want to make sure you have enabled will be found under Cameras. So if you go under Cameras, you'll see Do You Want to Receive Alerts here. If you're not right now we'll go ahead and say yes you want to receive an alert from the built-in camera notification. Let's say when your kid comes home from school, you want to know when they are coming in and out, and you'll want to get that alert on your phone when the snapshot is taken. So this will actually bump us over to-- these will keep us within this Camera location. You get to check out my nice big guns here. Just kidding. And you'll see the last snapshot. So the actual little gear icon here on the Settings is what you want to hit first. So this will show you all the camera info on the system. Again, it says Built-in Camera, Different Than an IP Cam, or one of the next Gen HD cameras that Honeywell just released. The setting that we'll want to toggle on and off is this setting right here. So it's enabled by default. If you find that when the system is disarmed locally at the system, not using Total Connect, but locally at the system itself, if somebody arms or disarms at the keypad, or somebody disarms with the keypad, then you should see snapshots being put into your Event Log, if this is enabled. If it's disabled, then you'll want to toggle it on if it's in this state. Just go ahead and click it. It'll toggle it right on. We can then save. Once that saves there, we can then actually back right out to the Events section. And we can scroll through here to see our last disarm. It should have been some time earlier today. If we first click onto it, you'll see the snapshot and what it grabbed here. You can click the Download button right on here. To download, you can also, if you close that down, you can also just click the Download button right here, as well. And by doing that, it's going to download the snapshot. These are going to come in JPG form, because they're not a video. They're just a singular image, a photo, basically, of at the moment that the panel was disarmed at the keypad. You can then grab this from your Downloads folder, save it on your desktop or hard drive. And feel free to offload that on the USB stick, if you need. But, at that point, you can basically collect your disarms. If there ever was somebody disarming at the panel that shouldn't have been, you could use that as documentation and your proof to deal with that situation. So that is how you would access the snapshot settings for your Lyric camera, enable them, disable them, download the subsequent snapshots. After they're uploaded to Total Connect, you can then download them locally to your computer. You can also do this on the app on your mobile devices. And we'll show you that in a different video, but this is how you do it on your Total Connect 2.0 web interface. If you have any other questions on snapshots on the Lyric controller, feel free to email us at support@alarmgrid.com. Definitely like this video, if you find that it was helpful. And don't forget to describe to our channel.
