hi Dan Liars Joe here from alarm grid and today we're going to talk about how to factory default your 2gig gc3 system now you are gonna need a code to get into programming to adjust or perform the factory defaults if you walk into a new home you move into a new apartment you find that it has a 2gig gc3 system installed if you don't have any of the codes there's a good chance you may not be able to perform the factory default on the system in that event if you do want to get the system activated with an alarm calm dealer they'll actually be able to pull up the system programming check the codes for you update them and push them down to the system so the system isn't totally bricked you'll just have to install the cellular module in the system get it activated on alarm comm and get the security company to find those codes out and update them for you now the system itself has two different ways you can factory default it there's a soft default and a hard default the soft default allows you to pick different settings on the system to factory reset the hard default clears the whole system out completely so let's take a look at these different features so on the system go ahead and click on your 2gig symbol and then enter the installer code ours is the default one five six one and then on this menu we have restore defaults and system configuration for the soft default we're going to go to restore defaults and you'll see that we have a whole bunch of different checkboxes zones consoles users z-wave and network by selecting any of these and then clicking restore defaults this will only restore those particular features or menus to the the factory setting this is a great many to use if you want to just dump a whole bunch of programming from one particular part of the system super convenient now to do the hard default we're going to have to make sure that there's two things that are configured on the system first if we go to system configuration and then go to panel programming question two and three you're going to have to adjust potentially the good question - you're going to want this set to disabled full access this is the lock installer programming menu and then on question 3 the lock default programming you're going to want to make sure this is set to allow reset of all defaults so with that set go ahead and return to your system configuration you can back out and now we're going to have to perform a full hard reset on the system so if we turn our system over you're going to need to unplug your backup battery plug for this and you're also going to have to disconnect the main power supply now the way that they were going to perform this default is when the system is powering up we're going to have to press and hold the two main touch buttons on the front of the system after the touch screen turns on it's not going to give you too much of an indication of the default there will be some text above the loading bar that's going to tell you that the default initiated but there's not going to be any any major thing on the screen so to see this let's go ahead and power our system back up I'll turn it over as soon as it turns on we can press and hold these two buttons and it does say reset activated over this loading bar it's very quick though now we're back on the main screen the system is fully factory defaulted and ready to be used if you did enjoy the video feel free to subscribe if you want to be notified when we post future videos click the notification button if you have any questions concerns tips tricks feel free to let us know head over to alarmgrid comm give us a call shoot us an email we hope you enjoyed the video and have a great day
