hey di wires don't here with alarmgrid today we're gonna be going over does the 5828 keypad work with the lyric gateway I'm also gonna be mentioning the controller today as they are very similar systems short answer is no the 50 20 does not work with either the lyric controller or the lyric gateway reason being is that the 58 20 it uses a bi-directional house ID that neither of the lyric system support there are wireless keypads that do work with the lyrics I'll be reviewing that as well and also be reviewing what systems the 50:28 actually does work with so to start the keypad that does work with the lyric systems is called the lkp 500 which we have right here this keypad is a wireless keypad it communicates to the lyrics of a six series bi-directional there's no wiring for this besides wiring it to its transformer you can either get the LT cable to wire the control of the keypad to its transformer or you can get 18 by 2 gauge wire a simple installation the can the keypad does come with the transformer as well as a backup battery so you pretty much just wire the transformer into the keypad plug it in and then you're pretty much done you're gonna be pairing the keypad to the system's wirelessly so there's not really much y-you have to run or anything like that the backup battery is very easy to install you basically just pop it in the back of the keypad you'll see a little connecting port plug it in reason for the backup batteries if you know your power goes down you still have that keypad functional the lyric controller as was lyric gateway do support about eight of these keypads as mentioned they do communicate off of a six series frequency which pretty much majority of encrypted sensors that communicate with Alaric's do the keypad does voice the system status ie arm stay arm away disarm now so on and so forth but it does not voice zone names so if you have descriptors set up on your lyric and you're used to the layer controller saying those names such as front door side motion so on and so forth they keep that does not do that it will beep it will chime the well alarm just does not voice zones the keypad is basically you program it to specific zones within the lyrics zones 850 thru 850 seven to be exact hence the eight keypads while you're going through the programming process it's fairly simple you program this as keypad or you can actually go to the specific zones as well it's easier just to kind of just do a normal keypad set up the 5828 does not work with the lyric as mentioned before however it does work with the Lynx series panels so the l7000 the l5210 are one of the more ones but pretty much majority the link systems it does work with it there's also a wireless keypad so you're not wiring it back to the panel you're just gonna be wiring it into its transformer as well as plugging in its backup battery and then you pair it to the system wirelessly the 5828 does not voice zones however the 58 28v does voice owns the V stands for voice similar situation how the lkp handles it it can function as a primary or secondary keypad so if you want arm or disarm from it you can it's going to show you the system status so I'll announce system status it will chime or alarm you can use it as a panic option anything like that the keypads are pretty easy to setup pretty easy to monitor the lkp in fact actually sends a signal to the lyric about every 200 seconds checking in if the lyric does not receive that signal it throws up a supervision error letting you know that there's something wrong with the keypad we can't find it for more information on the keypads both the 5828 and the lkp and if you want more information on the lyrics as well and check out our website
