Hi DIYers. This is Michael from AlarmGrid, and today I'm going to be showing you how to remove or clear a Z Wave device from a Qolsys IQ panel 2 or Qolsys IQ panel 2 plus security system. Clearing a Z wave device is basically deleting it from the network. It's wiping out the Z Wave data so that way it can be paired with a different network. You usually want to clear a device before adding it to a network even if you're using the device for the first time, even if it's fresh out of the box, it might have some Z wave data from the factory and for testing purposes. So it's always a good practice to clear your devices from the network. And luckily it's very easy to do. I also want to mention, you can clear a device even if it's not paired with the network. It will still show that the device has been cleared successfully or if it's paired with a different network. So lots of situations where you can clear a device or delete a device. Whatever you want to call it. Let's just be clear you don't have to actually have it on a Z wave network. And we're going to demonstrate today. We have a Z wave siren and a Z wave lock that we're going to be testing today. So we're at the main screen of our Qolsys IQ panel 2 plus. We're going to click the small gray bar at the top of the screen and we're going to choose settings. And we're going to choose advanced settings. And we're going to enter in our installer code which is at the default of 1, 1, 1, 1. We're going to choose Installation. And we're going to choose Devices. And we're going to Z wave devices because we're working with Z wave devices today. So you see the other options here. And you see our little spray bottle for cleaning, I guess. But there is the option to clear the device. So we're going to do that. And now it's in a listening mode where it's looking for a device to clear. So we're going to show the Qolsys IQ siren first. It's got a button, right here, that we press to send an enrollment or a disenrollment or unenrollments, clear signal whatever you want to call it. We're going to press the button. And as the IQ panel 2 kindly spoke to us, it has been cleared from the network. So now we could go and add that to the network if we wanted to. But we don't really care about that, we're here to clear devices today. So even though this wasn't actually paired with anything but now it's clear from the network. So now I'm going to do the same thing, I'm going to put it into the clearing mode. But we're going to turn our attention to the lock. So let's first put our IQ 2 into the clearing device mode. It's in the mode. Now we're going to go to the lock. And we're at our lock here, this is a quick set lock and it has an enrollment and a clear button right here. It's both at the same purpose and we press the button. Device is cleared from the network successfully. And as you can see the device has been cleared from the network successfully. So that's how you go about clearing device. You'll also be able to go and add these to the network successfully. I'll just show you with the IQ siren just to give a quick demonstration. If we wanted to add a device, we can press this button. Press Include. It's looking for a device. We press the button. And we press the button. And it did discover it. It took a couple tries there. And apparently we're using the S0 Z wave of security protocol instead of ST2 protocol. Oh well. So we'll press OK and we can configure the settings. It looks like it got on ID 10. We'll just do add. Your siren is added to network successfully. And it's been added to the network. But we don't actually want it on the network that was just to show you. So just one time for redundancy. We'll clear it from the network by pressing the button and putting it into the clear mode. And you see this time instead of saying unknown device, it said the siren is deleted because it knew what it was. Because it was on the network. So that's great and then we can just return home by pressing the home button at the bottom of the screen. So that's how you remove a Z Wave device from the Qolsys IQ panel 2 or a Qolsys IQ panel 2 plus.
