Sometimes when working with alarm wire, you may need to connect one or more wires together. The best way to do this is with alarm wire connectors, often referred to as B connectors. These are small plastic pieces that are used to crimp wires together. You will also need a special wire crimping tool to properly complete the process. Using these B connectors is easier and more efficient than manually twisting the wires together or pairing them with electrical tape. You get many B connectors per pack so that you can complete multiple projects. Most customers keep them around a garage or a workshop, in case they ever need to use them again later.

There are two main types of B connectors. These are gel-filled B connectors and plain B connectors. Gel-filled B connectors provide better insulation, and they are more suitable for use in an outdoor environment, though they can also be used indoors. Plain B connectors are only useful for use indoors. Make sure you get the proper type for your project. It is also possible to crimp different sized wires if that is what you are working with. You can even crimp both stranded and solid core copper wiring together if you need to. But remember that you will still need the proper wire crimping tool to pair any wires together using the B connectors.

Alarm Grid has both gel-filled B connectors and plain B connectors available here. The packs are in different sizes. Each pack will likely contain many more than you need if you are just a DIYer looking to set up or repair your own security system, but you can keep them around and use them later if you ever need to. You never know when some B connectors will come in handy, and anyone with a hardwired system that they regularly work on should keep some on hand. You might also with them with other electrical projects that require you to pair wires together. You may also want to purchase some alarm wire and a wire stripping tool if you do not already have one. You can purchase these items elsewhere on our website.
