IQ Panel 5 Security Panel

Qolsys regularly releases firmware updates for the IQ Panel 5 family, including the IQ Panel 5, IQ5 Hub, and IQ5 NS. These updates improve performance, resolve known issues, and help keep the panel operating reliably.

Firmware files for the IQ Panel 5 family are not available for direct download and panel access point installation. This update method was seldom used, so updates are now available only via WIFI.

The IQ Panel 5 family is updated through the panel using WIFI. A downloadable firmware file is not provided for these panels.



The IQ Panel 5 family does not support a downloadable firmware package for customer installation through the panel access point. To update an IQ Panel 5, IQ5 Hub, or IQ5 NS, the panel must be connected to WIFI and updated through the panel software upgrade menu or from Alarm.com. The panel must already be on software version 5.0.1 or higher to install version 5.0.2 wirelessly.

Update Instructions

Before starting, make sure the panel is connected to WIFI. The update process will download and install the software from the network.

  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen and tap "Settings".
  2. Tap "Advanced Settings".
  3. Enter a valid installer code. The default installer code is 1111.
  4. Tap "Upgrade Software".
  5. Tap "Patch Tag" and enter iqpanel5.0.2, then touch "OK".
  6. Tap "Upgrade Using Network". The panel must be connected to WIFI. You'll see a progress indicator as the software is being downloaded.
  7. When prompted, touch "OK" to reboot the panel and begin the upgrade. Do not touch the screen from this point until after the upgrade is complete. The update process takes approximately 5 minutes. The panel may reboot again during the update. When the home screen appears and the LED turns green the update is complete.

  • Modified supervision protocols for the new PGP Heat Detectors, including PGP9979 and PGP8979.
  • Fixed certain PGM rules when using Wired-2-Wireless modules, including PG9HRDW8 and PG9WLSHW8, or IOG, including PGP-IOx.
Important Update Notes:
  • No firmware download is available for the IQ Panel 5 family.
  • The panel must be on software version 5.0.1 or higher to install 5.0.2 from the panel.
  • The panel must be connected to WIFI.
  • Use patch tag iqpanel5.0.2.
  • Do not touch the screen while the panel is rebooting after the software download.
