Description

The DSC PG9934P Wireless PIR Motion Detector with Built-In Camera is great for monitoring any home or business. When the associated system goes into alarm, the PG9934P will capture an image. The image can the be viewed by the user from Alarm.com. This is useful for confirming break-ins.

The device detects motion by looking for changes in passive infrared (PIR) energy. When the device is powered on, it will take a reading of the PIR energy in the area. If there is any major movement, a significant change in infrared energy will occur. The sensor will recognize this and send an alert to the alarm system. That way, the system will know about the event. In that sense, the PG9934P operates as a standard motion sensor.

Additionally, whenever the system goes into alarm, the PG9934P will respond by taking a photo. The user will then be able to view the image and learn exactly what activity is occurring. An interactive service platform can then be used to send a text or email alert to the user when this occurs. That way, they can quickly learn that the PG9934P has been activated and that there may be a break-in. They can then confirm this by checking the associated image. If the user sees something suspicious in the image, they can contact the police immediately. This makes the PG9934P particularly useful for self-monitored customers.

The camera on the PG9934P is full-color, and it features a wide 90 degree angle view. It has a range of roughly 40 feet in daylight setting and 33 feet in darkness. Its IR illumination light helps the camera to produce quality images even in a dark setting. Another feature is that the device provides pet-immunity for pets weighing up to 85 pounds. This will prevent false alarms because of a pet simply walking across the room. Remember, mounting height, angle and location is important when setting up a sensor for pet immunity.

As a PowerG Sensor, the PG9934P features a communication range of up to 2 kilometers in open area. This means that the device could theoretically be used across an entire property, such as in a barn or a detached garage. The device utilizes 128-bit AES encryption, which prevents it from being hacked or taken over by others. It works with any DSC PowerSeries Neo Panel or with a Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus that has a PowerG daughtercard. Images can be viewed locally from a Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus or remotely from Alarm.com. Please note that alarm monitoring is required to use the camera portion of the image sensor. For optimal performance, we recommend a mounting height of 6 to 7 feet.

Note: The PG9934P Image Sensor takes multiple images when the system enters alarm, but it only sends the first of these images to Alarm.com. That image will be listed under "Panel Camera", and the Panel Camera Images feature must be enabled from Alarm.com for it to work. An IQ Panel 2 Plus must be running firmware version 2.3.0 or higher to support this image sensor.

NOTE: The maximum range for a PowerG Sensor when used with an IQ Panel 2 Plus System is only 2,000 feet in open air. This is considerably less than the advertised 2km range. The 2km range refers to when a PowerG Sensor is used with a DSC PowerSeries NEO System.

The image will be stored within your Mobile app for you to view.
is the image only stored in the sensor or is there a way to have it sent to a phone or monitoring company?
