DSC WT5500P- 2-Way Wireless Keypad w/ Prox Tag Reader and PT4 Prox Tag

The DSC WT5500P 2-Way Wireless Keypad with Proximity Tag Reader and PT4 Proximity Tag is an external keypad device that allows users to control their DSC Alarm System from a second on-site location. This is the version of the device that includes a proximity tag reader to support the PT4.

On the WT5500P Keypad is a 2x16 character message display for providing important system information. The keypad will also provide access to full installer-level programming for the system. In other words, a user will be able to enroll, edit and remove system sensors using the WT5500P device. The keypad can also be set to chime when an entry/exit zone is activated.

However, the main use of the WT5500P is that it provides a second on-site access point for controlling the system. The keypad is great for use in locations like by back doors, basement entryways and garage doors where a user might want to be able to quickly arm and disarm their system. The DSC Impassa in particular can support up to four of these external keypads.

Also included with the WT5500P is a strong backlight that makes it easy for users to operate the device in the dark. A reliable battery ensures that the device will remain powered when the electricity is out. However, the battery only has a life-span of a year, so it will need to be replaced annually to keep the device running.

A tamper switch on the WT5500P will alert with system if anyone tries to open up or disable the device while the system is armed. The keypad also conveniently displays the outside ambient temperature so that the user can make a quick determination of how to set their HVAC unit. The keypad can be wall-mounted, or an optional desk stand can be used to make installation even easier. Other features for the WT5500P include support for five programmable function keys and three integrated emergency key functions.

The WT5500P will function with the DSC Impassa and hardwired DSC PowerSeries Panels. If it is used with a PowerSeries System, the WT5500P will most likely serve as the system's primary controller. Integrated with the WT5500P is a proximity tag reader that allows the included PT4 Proximity Tag to be used with the device. DSC also makes another version of this keypad, the WT5500, that does not include the proximity tag reader.
