The Honeywell Home 300-10342 is a 3.6 VDC, 2480 mAH rechargeable Lithium-ion battery used for the PROSIXC2W wired to wireless converter. It provides backup power in the event of a primary power loss. In the event of an AC Loss condition, it will provide at least 24 Hours of standby power.
The PROSIXC2W comes with its own 300-10342 at the time of purchase. But as with all rechargeable batteries, at some point, within about three (3) to five (5) years, the original battery will begin to lose its ability to maintain a charge. At that point in time, it will begin to signal a low battery condition, even when there has been no primary power loss. At that time, it will be necessary to replace the battery with a new 300-10342.
The PROSIXC2W is used to convert wired zones from an older panel into PROSIX encrypted wireless zones that can be used with one of the new ProSeries panels. The ProSeries panels include the Honeywell Home PROA7PLUS or PROA7 and the Resideo PROA7PLUSC or PROA7C. After installing the PROSIXC2W and connecting up to eight (8) wired zones to it, each zone can then be learned into the Pro Series panel as if it were a wireless sensor. With the full capabilities and features of a PROSIX sensor, including 128-bit AES Encryption. Wired life-safety sensors such as smoke detectors and carbon monoxide sensors cannot be used with the PROSIXC2W.
In addition to being compatible with the PROSIXC2W, this backup battery is also compatible with the PROSIXRPTR. The PROSIXRPTR is used in instances where the Honeywell Home or Resideo PROSIX or SiX Sensors are installed too far away from the main control panel to get their wireless signals to the panel's built-in receiver. The PROSIXRPTR listens for signals from any of the compatible sensors, and then repeats any signal it hears at the same strength with which it was received. This can effectively double the range for compatible wireless PROSIX and SiX Sensors when the PROSIXRPTR is properly placed. Each ProSeries panel can support up to two repeaters.
