Optex WNX-40HW

The Optex WNX-40HW Wireless Pet Friendly Motion Detector offers reliable protection when used with Honeywell Security Systems. It offers a 40 sqft coverage area, but it can provide a 60 by 6 foot area with an optional FL-60N lens. It offers consistent detection, while reducing false alarms.

Like most motion sensors, the WNX-40HW works by looking for changes in infrared (IR) energy. The motion of a human intruder will cause a change in IR energy large enough to activate the sensor. It will then send an alert to the security system to let it know of the situation. The system will respond based on the programming settings for that zone.

With its OPTEX Quad Zone Logic, the WNX-40HW can establish more high-density detection zones. This helps the sensor actively distinguish between humans and other possible sources of motion. This includes pets and things like blinds or ceiling fans. As a result, false alarms are less likely to occur on the motion sensor.

The device also uses a spherical lens to enhance the focal length for each detection zone. This helps the Quad Zone Logic feature work more effectively, and it provides the sensor with an improved look at its coverage area. Temperature compensation allows the device to operate properly at all times, even when the temperature is close to that of the human body.

The device also features an adjustable pulse count for for configuring the device sensitivity. It operates using a CR123A battery, and it has a battery life of up to 7 years, An LED light shows the device's current status at all times. This model will work with virtually any Honeywell System that includes a built-in wireless receiver.
