The IQ DW MINI-EXTENDED-S uses Qolsys' S-Line rolling-code encryption to ensure that transmissions between the contact and the panel remain secure. The transmitter for this device should be mounted on the frame or other unmoving portion of the opening to be protected. The magnet should be installed on the moving part. When the protected opening is closed, the included magnet should be within .6 inches or less of the transmitter. This will ensure proper operation.

In addition to the internal reed switch and magnet operation, an external, normally closed contact can be wired to the terminals inside the contact. This will act as a second point of protection, and will require the programming of a second zone for the transmitter. This is perfect when you want to protect both a window, and a screen. Use the magnet and reed switch to protect the window, use an external contact wired into the transmitter to protect the screen. The wire length between the external contact and the screw terminals on the transmitter should not exceed twenty (20) feet.

Note: Qolsys sensors operate at 319.5 MHz. They will not work with the 345 MHz and the 433 MHz versions of the Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus. They are designed for the 319.5 MHz IQ Panel 2 Plus and other 319.5 MHz systems.
