WBOX 0E-PIR345

The WBOX 0E-PIR345 is a PIR motion detector w/ 60 lb pet immunity. It is compatible with alarm systems that support the 2GIG 345MHz frequency. It is not compatible with the Honeywell/Resideo 345MHz protocol. It features reliability, stability, and some of the best false alarm rejection.

The 0E-PIR345 is an excellent motion for any system that uses the 2GIG 345 MHz non-encrypted signal. The motion has various mounting holes that allow it to be mounted flat against the wall or in a corner for a 45 degree wall mounting. You will need to knock out the hole covers and use screws. You can also install with the three (3) included adhesive strips. You want to mount at a height of 7.5' to 10' from the floor or the area you are protecting.

PIR motion detectors work by sensing the infrared energy within their field of view. When the alarm system is armed, and the motion is active, it can sense even the smallest changes in infrared energy within its field of view.

This PIR motion uses a dual-element detection method. The elements are connected together in reverse polarity to provide a detection signal that is converted to digital form for best operation. It also has common mode rejection with a trademarked HighBar to help prevent false alarms. This only allows qualified signals, aka pulses, to be detected and cause an alarm, when the polarity alternates. WBOX says this is "best-in-class" false alarm rejection.

The 0E-PIR345 also features a selectable motion sensitivity setting. While most installations will use the normal sensitivity setting of 3-5 steps, you can adjust to high sensitivity of 2-4 steps. These are the typical amount of steps needed to trigger the motion detection. Be sure to mount the motion where it is in plain sight of the monitored area. It must also be aimed away from windows and heating and air vents. This PIR features a 60 lb pet immunity. Be sure to to install where your <60 lb pet will be able to climb on stairs or furniture to appear larger than 60 lbs.

The PIR is powered from one (1) CR123A battery. After powering the motion, it goes through a one (1) minute warm-up period. Next, learn in the sensor using your specific alarm system's auto-enroll method. Then, be sure to perform a walk test to ensure proper operation. It is also a good idea to test these once a year. With the LED on, walk the area you are testing. When the LED turns on, wait for it to turn off, plus an additional 12 seconds, before continuing the walk test.
