Arming and Disarming in Total Connect

Arming and Disarming in Total Connect

Transcript

Hi, DIYers. This is Frank at Alarm Grid. We are back in our video lab working on our Total Connect 2.0 tutorial videos. And today, we're going to show you how to simply arm and disarm your Honeywell alarm system. What I'd like to start by doing is showing you how to get to the website and logging in, and then arming, stay arming away, and then disarming the alarm system. So let me get you over to our computer here. And we have our login already mapped in. In your case, you'll want to just type in your username and your password. Make sure that the password does meet the requirements. If you have not already created a login, you want to check out our video on how to log into Total Connect. And that will explain that you'll need to set up service with an AlarmNet dealer in advance. And then log in using the password setup link from your email. And then you'll have all these credentials you need here. Assuming that you have all that, we'll go ahead and click Sign In. We'll get this spinning blue bar here. This will jump you right into the Security Interface. The first thing I want to review is the top right. If you do have multiple locations, or an alarm system in a few different areas, this is where you'll want to toggle to the specific location you want. Today, we're going to be working on our [? layer ?] controller. But if you did have multiple systems, you want to make sure you're at the right location first. Once you're at the proper location, or if you only have one location, right from this initial interface here, you'll see the ability to arm, arm down the bottom, and then the live status. If you have any interest in checking sensor status, you can check that here in advance. Otherwise, if it's disarmed, ready, and there's no faults, then you can go ahead and start arming the panel. In this case, we'll go ahead and do an arm stay command. And depending on the internet connection, or if you're on cellular only, these speeds may vary. And once this arming command goes through, you'll then see that status update. Right? So you have your arm stay up top here. You can now disarm from down below. You'll see in the event log here you have arm stay at the time that we're doing this today. And then we'll go ahead and hit Disarm. Once the system disarms, you'll see the event log down below here-- update, as well as the status here at the top. We'll get into custom arming and night stay arming later on a separate video. But for today, just wanted to show you how to arm and disarm your alarm system. If there's any questions you have on arming and disarming your alarm system from Total Connect, on the web, feel free to email us at support@alarmgrid.com.
