hi DIY this is Jarrett with alarmgrid here today we're gonna be replacing the battery backup on the koalas IQ panel - so in order to do that first step is going we're going to have to power down the closest but I just want to let you know you cannot power down these these panels by just unplugging the transformer and removing the battery backup from the circuit board you actually have to power down the system from inside the panel itself so in order to do that you're going to see if you look at the center top screen you'll see a tab you just press on a tab and then you're going to press settings then you're gonna press advanced settings and we're gonna be typing in the installer code the default installer code for these panels is 1 1 1 1 and then next step is you're gonna press power down and you're gonna press ok and we're going to wait for the system to completely power down ok so once it's completely powered down the next step is to remove the panel from the back plate but in order to do that you have to remove certain screws from the back of the system first so for demonstration purposes we've already taken out the screws but I can show you where they are first screw is going to be on the top right corner in the back right here second screw is going to be on the top left corner in the back of this panel right here and then the third screw is going to be directly underneath the system right here once you take out the screws you're gonna have to press the tabs in order to pull it off the pan pull the panel off the wall so the tabs are gonna be directly underneath the system one right here and one right here the way to know is that it feels like a little bubble so you're going to press the tabs and you're going to pull the system off of the wall once you do that you'll see the battery back up right there on top of the speaker so for this video the battery backup that we have it is not bad so we're not going to be replacing it but in order to replace it you're going to remove this cable from the circuit board once you do that you'll see a blue tab that you can pull so what you're going to be doing is pulling this tab and so it completely pulls out and you're removing the adhesive tape that is holding this battery back up in place so once you do that you'll take it out and then you're going to take the new battery back up and you can remove the clear piece that is on top of the adhesive tape so once you do that you're going to place it back into the system and you're going to make sure that the blue tab is in the same spot and then once you do that you're going to grab the same cable you're gonna plug it back into the circuit board and then you're going to place the closest panel back onto the wall so you want to make sure that you're aligning the top of the back brackets with the pet with the back plate and then you're clicking the bottom back into place as soon as you do that the next step is to power the system back up so there's going to be a power button on the side on the right side of the panel so you're just going to hold it down for three seconds two three you can let the system power back up completely okay once the system is powered back up you might get a low-battery error on the system you don't have to worry about that it's just a new battery charging it takes the new battery with a new better backup battery a couple of hours to completely charge up but that is how you replace the battery back up on the closest IQ panel - if you have any questions about the closest systems or even about security systems in general please contact us at support at alarm grid calm and or go onto our website alarmgrid comm if you liked this video and you found it helpful please click like and subscribe and if you want any notifications on new videos that are coming out please press the bulb icon thank you this is Jerry with alarmgrid you have yourself a great day
