hi do iers joey from alarm grid and today we're going to talk about how to enroll your sp2 keypad dear gc3 using the access point mode now this is kind of a cool feature on the GC 3 what it allows the GC 3 to do is to propagate its own Wi-Fi network this is super convenient if you're installing the GC 3 in a location that doesn't have a Wi-Fi network there as it will let you and roll your Wi-Fi keypads directly to the system using the access point in the GC 3 when you're using this mode you can still use the GC 3 cellular communicator to have a communicate with alarm comm and you can get all those great features that you get with that service the only downside to using the access point mode on the GC 3 is that you won't be able to use the Wi-Fi communicator for it to communicate to alarm comm so if you are looking to have it set up in a dual path setup where it's going to use Wi-Fi and cellular to communicate all of its alarm signals and other signals out to alarm comm you won't be able to use the access point mode at the same time with that said though let's set up the access point on the GC 3 and then let's connect our SP 2 keypad to the system so we're going to click on our 2gig symbol we're going to enter a default installer code 1 5 6 1 I'm going to click on network settings and then access point I'm going to hit the toggle switch to enable the access point it says that it successfully started and you'll see that we see our network name or password and the IP address I'm going to click Save access point settings and as you can see it says wireless access point started successfully so I'm going to click OK and now I should be able to join my SP 2 keypad to the system so I've already powered this up first thing that I'm going to do is I'm going to click after I get enough slack I'm going to click refresh and as you can see the first network here is 2gig gc3 and that is our SSID on our 2gig gc3 so I'm going to click that and then it's going to ask me for the password and as you can see the password is 9 five four nine three three five zero nine five I'm going to click Next it's going to connect and now it says enter the IP address of the master panel so on our GC three I'm going to click the back arrow I'm going to do it again and I'm going to do system configuration I'm gonna click on keypads so I'm gonna click on the menu on the right hand side to get into our edit when you keypad used I'm gonna say yes equipment code I'm gonna click the hamburger button here and select the SB 2 and then device ID SB 2 is not connected I'm gonna click pair so now the system is listening for the SP 2 I'm gonna click the checkmark on this menu and now it says enter the pairing key from the master panel I'm gonna click check and it says the keypad is successfully paired so when you see that menu that says enter the parent key from the master panel just click the check mark and you'll get right through it back on our GC 3 we don't have to do anything with the smart areas assignment equipment age won't affect anything with the system emergency Keys has to do with whether or not you want the panic keys on the SP 2 to function or not and then the voice descriptor is the way you can name the keypad so if I want to name it a wireless keypad I just load it up and do wireless keypad click done and then return to system configuration you can see this is highlighted showing that we did make some edits so we're going to click back confirm changes which is all the stuff that we just did in programming I'm gonna click Save and once we're back on the main menu and I click OK now the SB 2 is actually reflecting what's on the GC 3 and it is communicating with the system over the access point feature that's how to connect your SB 2 to a GC 3 using the access point mode if you have any questions about the SP 2 the GC 3 or alarm systems in general feel free to head to our website wwlp.com give us a call at eight at eight eight one eight seven seven two eight or send us an email to support at alarm grid comm did like the video feel free to subscribe and if you want to be updated when I post future videos hit the notification button below and we'll send you an update when we do so thanks for watching and have a great
