Description

In this video, Darrell from Alarm Grid explains how to enroll a PROSIXFOB with a PROA7 or PROA7PLUS alarm panel. This same procedure will also work on the Resideo PROA7PLUSC and PROA7C.

First, enter panel programming by selecting the hamburger Menu icon at the bottom-center of the panel screen. Scroll down to Tools, then enter the Installer Code. The default is 4112. Choose Programming, then Peripherals. Press the + icon in the upper-right of the screen. This puts the panel into Learn Mode.

Simultaneously, press the top two buttons on the PROSIXFOB or SIXFOB. The two green LEDs should begin to flash rapidly back and forth. If this does not happen, it means that the PROSIXFOB or SIXFOB has already been paired with a panel. In order to use it, it will need to first be unpaired or defaulted. The PROSIXFOB and SIXFOB can only be defaulted within the first 100 transmissions after being paired with a system.

Since this is an encrypted device, the pairing process can take a little time, so be patient. Once the panel has been paired with the fob, the information for default fob programming can be seen, along with the first zone number assigned to the fob, and the MAC address. Verify that the MAC address you are dealing with matches the MAC address for the fob.

One important programming step is assigning the key fob to a user code. By default, there is a Master code programmed for the panel, and by default, the fob will be assigned to the Master code. You can assign each fob to a unique user so that when the fob is used, the event log will show that the user armed or disarmed the system. In order to assign a fob to a user, you must program the user code BEFORE you program the fob. Otherwise, that user will not be available to choose from the drop-down when programming the key fob.

By default, "4-button" fob is the device type selected and is the programming shown in this video. A SIXFOB or PROSIXFOB can use up to eight (8) different functions using both single-button presses, and combination button presses. The default programming for the bottom-right button (the red exclamation mark) is "No Response". If you would like to use this button as a panic, you can change the programming accordingly. The other three buttons are programmed for Disarm (upper-right), Away (upper-left) and Stay (lower-left). After all the programming is completed, be sure to press "Save". You can then exit programming and test the PROSIXFOB or SIXFOB to be sure it's working properly.

Hi, DIYers. My name is Darrell with Alarm Grid. Today, we're going to talk about the PROA7, PROA7PLUS, and how to enroll the PROSIXFOB. So today, we're going to be using the PROSIXFOB to use arming and disarming, trip a panic, and we're going go through the programming steps now on how this works. Once you're on the main screen, you hit the hamburger menu at the bottom, three lines. You're going to swipe up to Tools. You're going to put in install a code. By default, it's 4112. Takes us to the programming menu. We're going to go to Programming. We'll go to Peripherals. We're going to hit the plus key. And on our key fob, we're going to press the top two buttons. We're going to get the flashing. Then we're going to hit the button. Sometimes, we'll have to move it. Sometimes, it's too close. Sometimes it's too far away. I'm going to move it off screen. And there we go. Sometimes, if you're too close, it won't enroll. So we've got it programmed. We see it's the SIXFOB. It's got our Mac, which should be on our label. It should show up here on the back. It should match. You should try to match the last four to six numbers. This is 90A799. So that kind of shows us that we've got the right key fob enrolled. Partition. If you're using multiple partitions, you want to set this up so that you're operating the correct partition. Most of you all are going to have one partition on the system. We have other videos that will discuss that later. We have to assign it a user. So the master user, which is the default user, which is the very first user everybody uses, the zone number will be the zone associated to the key fob itself and everything associated with the key fob. So we're going to use a four button because that's how many we're using, which you could do all four buttons. Now there's an option to change this into a single button, two button, four, six, or eight button key fob. Eight button, there's different key presses. Check the SIXFOB programming manual to see what those button combinations are. We're going to go back to Stay On Four Button. So button one is Arm Away. Button two shows a disarm. Button three is Arm Stay. And button four right now by default is no response. So you could use this to trigger a scene, you can choose it to trigger additional options for other devices like Z-Wave if you're using automation. But we're going to set this today, we're going to set this to a 24 hour audible. So in case we want to trigger a panic alarm to alert the police, plus make noise at the panel. After that, we're going to hit the Save button. Once we've saved, we're going to verify that it's on the list. We're going to back out twice. It's then going to pair the key fob. Now that we've paired, we're going to hit the back arrow. Takes us back to the home screen. So we've got the options. This is arm away. Exit now. If you'll notice, the key fob lit up red, showing us that we're in the arming state. A two second press on any button will activate it. Armed away. OK, the disarm button, press and hold for two seconds. Flashes green. Ready to arm. Disarms the panel. Same thing for the Arm Stay, and then the key fob will also give us indication of what the last status was. Arm Stay. Armed Stay. I'll go ahead and disarm it again. Disarmed. Ready to arm. And now we're going to trigger the panic button, which is the red button with the exclamation point at the bottom. It's going to let you know that there's an alarm. The zone is the key fob. And you can disarm it with your four digit code. Disarmed. Not ready to arm. Press OK. Disarmed. Ready to arm. It should clear the message from the system. If you have any questions on how to enroll the key fob, you can go to our site at alarmgrid.com or you can reach out to us at support@alarmgrid.com if you have any additional questions. You can also subscribe, like, hit the bell icon to get notifications when we create new content. And that wraps up our video on how to enroll the key fob. My name is Darrell with Alarm Grid. Have a great day.
