Hey, DIYers. I'm George from Alarm Grid. Today, I'm going to be going over whether or not we can disable or enable the arm confirm feature on an IQ 2 or an IQ 2 Plus. So what is an arm confirm feature? The arm confirm is simply a loud tone that the panel emits whenever the panel has completely armed away. So once the system is completely armed, and the countdown is finished, some panels emit a loud tone letting you know that the system's completely armed. So for instance, this may come in handy if you guys are arming from the outside of the house with a key fob, and you guys want to wait around to make sure the panel armed. Most panels, will actually-- it's usually the same-- it emits at the same sound that an alarm siren would go off, so it is pretty loud. So if you guys are standing outside the house, you guys can actually hear that the system completely armed away. Now, the IQ 2 Plus or the IQ 2 does not have this feature. So if you guys are arming with a separate keypad with a key fob, the system will not have a loud arm confirm feature. All right. The most it's going to do is it's going to announce that the system was armed away, but there will be no large tone emitted from the panel. And I'm going to go ahead and show you guys this real quick. So I actually have here a key fob. I have it learned in to my IQ 2 Plus system. I'm going to go ahead and arm it away. And you guys are going to hear that the system will say armed away, but there won't actually be any loud confirm beep, arm confirm beep or anything like that. All right. So we're going to go ahead and press the Arm Away button, which is the lock. The panel said, "Away mode selected." And normally, the exit delay on this panel is 60 seconds by default. You can change it. I changed mine to 30 seconds for the sake of the video, that way we don't want to wait an extra minute. So now that we're at 15 seconds down, as soon as it reaches zero, it's actually going to let you know armed way. So it actually will let me know key fob armed away. And if you guys also noticed, at the last 10 seconds, it started counting down. So if you guys are still in the house those last 10 seconds, and the panel's almost complete, you may want to disarm the system or you may want to extend the exit delay. So as you saw, the system actually said, "Key fob armed away." I'm going to go ahead and just disarm it. Now, that's our arm confirm feature. I know it's not on the IQ 2 Plus or the IQ 2, but if you guys are using it on other systems, keep in mind it's usually only when you do an Arm Away. Whenever you do an Arm Stay, that loud arm confirm feature is disabled, just because it knows that people are still in the house and it doesn't-- For instance, let's say you're leaving to work in the morning, and your family's still at home sleeping, getting ready for school, they don't want that loud confirmed to wake anyone up. So again, that confirmation arm confirmed beep is only available on most systems when you do an Arm Away. All right. And it's also when you arm from the key fob or from a keypad.
