Description

In this video, Jarrett from Alarm Grid explains how you can use Honeywell 5800 Series Sensors with the 345 MHz version of the IQ Panel 2 Plus. Since Honeywell 5800 Sensors transmit at 345 MHz, they will work with systems that include 345 MHz wireless receivers, including the 345 MHz IQ Panel 2 Plus.

There are three versions of the Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus. There is a 319.5 MHz version. There is a 345 MHz version. And there is a 433 MHz version. Only the 345 MHz version can support Honeywell 5800 Sensors. The other versions cannot. It's also useful to know that all three (3) versions of the IQ Panel 2 Plus can support the 915 MHz PowerG Sensors. Additionally, there is also an original "non-Plus" version of the Qolsys IQ Panel 2. However, the original IQ Panel 2 System can only support 319.5 MHz sensors. Common examples of 319.5 MHz sensors include those from Qolsys and Interlogix.

Honeywell is historically known for their 345 MHz sensors from their 5800 Series. These sensors will work with the 345 MHz version of the Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus. However, it is important to note that you can only use uni-directional "one-way" 345 MHz Honeywell 5800 Sensors with the 345 MHz IQ Panel 2 Plus. You cannot use bi-directional 5800 Sensors with the 345 MHz IQ Panel 2 Plus. This includes devices like the Honeywell 5800WAVE and the Honeywell 5834-4 Key Fob when used in High Security Mode. In addition to uni-directional Honeywell 5800 Sensors and PowerG Sensors, the 345 MHz Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus can also support 345 MHz 2GIG Sensors. This does not include the encrypted 2GIG eSeries Sensors. Additionally, you cannot use Honeywell SiX Series Sensors with the Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus. Honeywell SiX Series Sensors are designed exclusively for use with the Honeywell Lyric Alarm System.

hey DIY is Jarret with alarmgrid here today we're going to talk about if you can use Honeywell 5800 sensors with the closest IQ panel - yes you can use it you can use Honeywell 5800 sensors with the coil psyche panel - but only if you are using the 345 megahertz version of the closest IQ panel - plus there are a couple of different versions of the closest like your panel 2 plus and the Honeywell and 2gig 345 megahertz version is one of them that is the one that will work with the Honeywell 5800 sensors the Honeywell 5800 centuries will not work with any other version of the closest IQ panel and that does include the original Kostis IQ panel and the closed IQ panel - and as I said there are other versions of the qualities like a panel - plus but that really depends on which one you have now to go over something it's like the closest IQ panel - plus or the closest panels in general they come with built-in wireless receivers and like the normal ones the closest IQ panel and the closest IQ panel to come with wireless receiver that utilizes three hundred nineteen point five megahertz which can use the closest sensors and even in some cases inter logic sensors now if you do have this version of the closest panel and it will not work with the 5800 sensors unfortunately you will need that 345 megahertz version of the closest IQ panel - plus now as I as I mentioned earlier these systems come with built-in wireless receivers if you're not sure what that means or what that is it's basically a piece that's that's that comes in the system's comes built-in and it allows your system to use wireless sensors and there are different versions of the wireless receiver which one of them is the 300 nineteen point five megahertz version and then there's the one that supports 345 megahertz so the if you have the 345 megahertz version of the closest IQ panel - plus then that's great you can use the Honeywell 5800 sensors and you can also use 2gig sensors because they use the 345 megahertz as well now this system is a great option if you have a Honeywell system installed in the home and you wanted to upgrade and maybe even use the closest at that point you could just get that version of the closest IQ panel to plus and just utilize all of your existing Honeywell sensors now just keep in mind that this system will not work with any Honeywell six series devices those devices will are are they unfortunately do not utilize the same 345 megahertz for radio frequency so unfortunately they will not be compatible with that version of the closest but if you have the Honeywell 5100 sensors you're set you can use those and you'll be all good to go now another thing that would like to add on about the 345 megahertz version of the koala sis is that it can use also power G sensors in case you needed to use any long distance sensors or anything like that all versions of or all new versions of the Qualis IQ panel - plus they will be able to use power G sensors doesn't matter which one you have because they have that power G daughter card built-in now the original Costas IQ panel and the closest IQ panel to system they unfortunately will not be able to utilize power G sensors they're only meant to be used with 319.50 sensors now there is another version of the khalsa psyche panel - plus it is available it's basically just a 433 megahertz version which supports DSC sensors and also the power G centers as I said and then there is the three hundred nineteen point five megahertz version of the Koala psious IQ panel - Plus which supports Qualis sensors and inter logic centuries and also power G now these different systems they all come with the wireless receiver built into it that supports those different megahertz sensors so you want to make sure that you are choosing the correct one for your situation because you can't easily swap out that wireless receiver whichever one you choose and that is those are the sensors you're going to be using so to go over one more time we'll 1500 sensors work with the koala psychic panel - yes if you have a 345 version of the koala psyche panel two plus so if you have any further questions about the koala psyche panel - or alarm systems in general please contact us at support at alarm grid comm over to our website alarm grid comm if you found this video helpful please like subscribe if your notifications of future videos please click the bell icon this is Jared with alarm grid you have yourself a great day
