Dear Valued Customer,

Please see important cellular communicator update i
nformation below:

Burglary Radios
On April 29, 2024, Resideo released T
echnical Notification #102 Resumption of Automated
Firmware
Updates and New Firmware Release for Improved Cellu
lar Connectivity
which indicated new
firmware versions for select cellular communicators
. These new firmware versions are specifically
designed to enhance cellular connectivity, address
previous cellular connectivity issues, and ensure a

more reliable connection with the AlarmNet
®
system.
Over the next 30 days, Resideo will begin pushing a
utomatic updates to LTE-IV/LTE-IA, LTE-XV/LTE-XA,
LTE-L3V/LTE-L3A, and LTE-HSV communicators to ensur
e that they are up to date on the latest
available firmware versions.
The following products and latest firmware versions
are below:
LTE-IV – 4.1.31.0
LTE-IA – 4.1.31.0
LTE-XV – 4.0.62.0
LTE-XA – 4.0.62.0
LTE-L3V – 4.0.54.0
LTE-L3A – 4.0.54.0
LTE-HSV – 2.14.16
No action is required from customers at this time.
However, please note that a radio in a low battery
state
will not update successfully. Customers with device
s in a low battery state may need to have the batte
ry
replaced before the device can be updated.
A small percentage of systems may indicate a radio
trouble condition when the radio performs a
reset/reboot after downloading new software and app
lying software to the radio. Entering your User Cod
e
+ Off two times will silence and clear the radio tr
ouble.
Fire Radios
On January 28, 2022, Resideo released
Technical Notification #72 Potential Communication
Issue –
Over-the-Air Firmware Update Required
, which alerted customers of a potential communicat
ion issue
in limited instances between the HWF2V-COM and LTE-
CFV Fire communicators and the Central
Monitoring Station.
After identifying that a number of these radios are
still operating with old firmware versions, this T
echnical
Notification is a reminder for customers to promptl
y update their Fire communicators to ensure that th
ey
are up to date on the latest available firmware ver
sions.
Technical Notification #136

11/5/2025

As noted previously, affected communicators may fai
l to communicate in certain limited instances when
connectivity to an LTE tower is temporarily lost wh
ile the communicator is attempting to send a messag
e.
In these instances, the fire alarm control panel (F
ACP) communicates alarm and trouble conditions loca
lly
as fire detection and local notification are not af
fected.
The following products and latest firmware versions
are below:
HWF2V-COM – 3.2.21
HWF2A-COM – 3.2.21
LTE-CFV – 3.2.21
LTE-CFA – 3.2.21
Please note that for Fire Radio firmware updates, U
L requires a technician to be onsite to perform the

update. Steps to confirm your current firmware ver
sion and accomplish the firmware upgrade can be
found below.

Technical Notification #136

11/5/2025

Updating Fire Communicator Firmware:

Firmware updates can be initiated on site by clicki
ng on the Test/Registration switch one time to gene
rate
a test message to the AlarmNet
®
system, which will initiate the firmware update pr
ocess. If your
communicator already has the latest firmware, the t
est process will complete, and the firmware update
process will not start.

This process should take no longer than ten minutes
. See the Diagram below for the location of the
Test/Registration switch.

Update Requirements:

The requirements in NFPA 72, which covers the appli
cation, installation, location, performance,
inspection, testing and maintenance of fire alarm s
ystems, state that functional testing be conducted
when changes are made to site-specific software or
the system executive software of installed fire ala
rm
equipment (See NFPA 72 – 2019 clause 14.4.2). Furth
er, NFPA 72 - 2019 clause 14.2.3 indicates that the

property or building or system owner, or the owner’
s designated representative is responsible for
inspection, testing and maintenance of the system.
If you have further questions, please reference the

NFPA 72 regulation for more information.

Installers should reference NFPA 72 and AHJ guideli
nes for system testing requirements after the
firmware update has been completed.

Firmware Update Results:

If the new firmware is successfully applied to the
communicator, the communicator will send an
E339 (Reset) message followed by an R903 (Firmware
Update Complete) message to the central
station.

If the new firmware is not successfully applied to
the communicator, the communicator will send
an E904 (Firmware Update Failed) message to the cen
tral station. In this case, the prior firmware
will continue to function.
