Th
e Micro SD Card Software Update Tool is used to upgrade the Software installed on the LYNX Touch L5210 and L7000
Series Controls.
Updating the Software
Step

Action
1.
Power down the Control by removing electrical power a
nd disconnecting the battery.
2.
Remove the Communications Module (if installed) from th
e edge connector on the right (speaker) side of the
control’s circuit board.
3.
Install the Software Update Tool on the right (speake
r) side of the Control’s circuit board.
4.
Reconnect the battery.
5.
Close the Control’s cover.
6.
While pressing and holding the “Home” button, apply p
ower to the Control. Continue holding the button until
“Press Home Key to return” is displayed on the screen. Release the button.
7.
The system displays the following menu:

8.
Press the “Panic” button to scroll until the “Update”
option is highlighted and then press the “home” button to
accept the “Update” option. A legend displayed at the bottom of the screen describes the functions of the
control’s keys.

Press the “Panic” button to scroll down and highlight “
#Filesystem” and press “Home” button to accept

Press the Control’s “Panic” button to scroll down to t
he line that contains the desired file name (similar to
SxxxxV9xxxxx.bin).

Press the Control’s “Home” button to select the fil
e. When the software update is complete, the system
displays
“Press Home Key to return”.
12.

Press the “Home” key. The system again displays “Pr
ess the “Home Key to return”.
13.

Press the “Home” key again.
14.

Power down the Control and disconnect the battery.
15.

Remove the Update Tool and reinstall the communicat
ions module (if previously installed) on the right
(speaker)
side of the control’s circuit board.
16.

Reconnect the battery and close the Control.
17.

Apply power to restart the Control.

Verifying the Software was updated
Step

Action
1.
Select “Security” icon at the Home Screen.
2.
Select “More”.
3.
Select “Tools”.
4.
Enter the 4-digit Master Code.
5.
Select “Test”.
6.
Confirm the software revision displayed on top line
is the software revision you intended to update.
7.
Press “Home” button to go back to return to the Hom
e Screen.
