Description

The DSC PG9933 is a wireless PowerG Carbon Monoxide Detector that alerts a compatible system to an outbreak of CO gas. The sensor provides an early alert before dangerous levels are reached to prevent injuries and death. It has a built-in 85 dB sounder to provide an audible alert.

Carbon monoxide is extremely dangerous. The gas is odorless and tasteless, and it results in hundreds of deaths every single year. Most deaths occur during the winter months when household heaters are more commonly used. Broken heating appliances represent one of the leading causes of CO-related deaths. Other causes include using charcoal grills indoors and leaving a vehicle running in a closed garage. You should always make sure to follow proper safety precautions to prevent carbon monoxide deaths.

Installing carbon monoxide sensors in your home is extremely important. The best places to use carbon monoxide sensors include near attached garages and outside of sleeping areas. You should have at least one carbon monoxide sensor on each floor of the building. By using carbon monoxide sensors with your alarm system, you can receive automatic emergency dispatch from a central station in the event of an outbreak. You can also receive alerts from Alarm.com regarding a CO outbreak. Please note that central station service and Alarm.com service will require a monitoring plan.

As for the PG9933 Carbon Monoxide Sensor, the device includes its own integrated 85 dB sounder to help ensure that building occupants are alerted during CO outbreak events. This a PowerG Sensor, and it can be used from up to 2km away in open air with the DSC PowerSeries NEO Systems. However, this range is reduced to approximately 2,000 feet in open air when used with a Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus System. The sensor will also work with the DSC Iotega. It utilizes 128-bit AES encryption for added wireless security. The sensor uses a single CR123A battery for power, and it has an average battery life of five (5) years with standard use. It is designed for indoor use only. Please note that this sensor is NOT one-go-all-go. This means that if one CO detector on your panel activates, the others will NOT activate as well. However, your system itself will still indicate a carbon monoxide alarm.
