Description

The Honeywell LYNXRCHKIT-SHA is a super high capacity battery backup for the Honeywell LYNX Series wireless alarm control panels. The LYNXRCHKIT-SHA is recommended for anyone that has an AlarmNet alarm monitoring communicator installed inside their LYNX control panel and wants (24) hours of battery backup.

The Honeywell super high capacity battery backup is compatible with the older LYNXR-I and LYNXR-2 wireless alarm control panels but is not compatible with the original LYNXR-EN. The LYNXRCHKIT-SHA is of course also compatible with the newer L3000 LYNX Plus, L5000 LYNX Touch, L5100, L5200 and L7000 wireless alarm control panels. The LYNXRCHKIT-SHA is the highest capacity battery backup available for the LYNX Series control panels and is actually made up of (6) 3700mAh, size 4/3 A, nickel-metal hydride batteries that are connected in series.

When your LYNX Series wireless alarm control panel is being monitored by an AlarmNet alarm monitoring communicator, the rechargeable battery backup that protects your control panel also provides power to the alarm communicator. Therefore, if you have a L3000 LYNX Plus using a 7847i-L internet alarm communicator or GSMVLP cellular communicator, you will not get the same (4) hours of battery backup that the LYNXRCHKIT-SC standard capacity battery would normally provide. You will also not get (24) hours of battery backup using the LYNXRCHKIT-HC high capacity battery. You will need to use the LYNXRCHKIT-SHA super high capacity battery to get the full (24) hours of battery backup. This holds true when using the L5000 LYNX Touch with a ILP5 internet communicator or GSMVLP5 cellular communicator and also when using the L5100 LYNX Touch with a ILP5, L5100-WIFI or GSMVLP5-4G alarm communicator.

The Honeywell LYNXRCHKIT-SHA super high capacity battery is much bigger than the LYNXRCHKIT-SC standard capacity battery that is included with all LYNX Series wireless alarm control panels. Therefore, when installing inside a L3000 LYNX Plus wireless alarm control panel, you will need to use the alternate battery retainer clip for the LYNXRCHKIT-SHA to fit properly in the battery compartment. When installing the LYNXRCHKIT-SHA inside a L5000 or L5100 LYNX Touch wireless alarm control panel, you will need to use the notch to the left side of the battery compartment to hold the battery retainer clip in place. The LYNXRCHKIT-SHA also uses a larger sized battery connector so you will need to plug it into the larger plug on the LYNX Series circuit board.

07/19, purchased less than a month ago
On the battery itself there should be a month/year code on there in a 2 digit format: xx/xx. What is this date code?
Just bought and installed this a week ago and my L5200 still says low battery. Re-checked connections, checked voltage. Everything seems to be working except clearing the message after running walk test and restarting the panel.
Thank you.
I believe I answered this on a video as well. The higher capacity battery uses the 3-prong connector, and the lower capacity battery uses the 2-prong connector.
I see some replacement batteries use a 3-prong connector. Is that 3-port next to the 2-port a battery connector as well? I don't like to assume. (Currently subscribed to your alarm services.)
Yes, this is the correct battery.
Just want to verify that this is the correct extra life battery for a Lynx Touch 5200 series I purchased from Alarmgide about four years ago.
Yes, the Battery life for most batteries are 3-4 years before they go "dead".
Is 3 1/2 to 4 years about right for the life of this NiMh Battery (LYNXRCHKIT-SHA) - Panel started showing "Low battery" alarm for panel then would restore in 4 hours or so. Started out maybe once a month it would do this until recently it started doing the "Low Battery" then restore daily. Is that a sign of a failing battery? Put in original battery that came with unit and it has not gone to low battery since initial restore. So likely it is the LYNXRCHKIT-SHA battery, just curious if you have seen these fail in this manner?
