IQ IQWV908

The IQ IQWV908 is a Z-Wave Plus 700 Series smart water valve designed to automatically control the main water supply in a home or business. It retrofits most existing quarter-turn ball valves, allowing you to add smart water shutoff control without replacing the plumbing valve or needing a plumber to install. The IQWV908 is designed for pipes from 1/2 inch to 1-1/4 inches. To get the best experience with the water valve, a compatible water leak sensor should be installed or existing. If no existing sensor, please consider purchasing this smart water valve in a kit. We offer (2) two. A PowerG kit and an S-Line kit (discontinued).

The IQ Water Valve connects wirelessly to compatible Qolsys and IQ security and automation systems using Z-Wave Plus 700 Series technology. Once connected, the valve can be controlled through the compatible system to turn the water supply on or off. This provides a convenient way to add water shutoff automation and help reduce the potential damage caused by an unwanted water leak.

Installation is designed to be simple and does not require plumbing modifications or specialized tools. The valve uses a retrofit servo mechanism that operates the existing quarter-turn ball valve. This makes the IQWV908 useful for installations where replacing the existing water valve would be difficult or unnecessary.

The IQWV908 uses adaptive torque output with a maximum torque of 8 N·m (70.8 in-lbs). The adaptive design allows the motor to adjust its output as it operates the existing valve. The device also includes a touch-sensitive button, a three-color LED indicator, and an audible buzzer with an output of up to 85 dB for local status and operation feedback.

The valve can be installed indoors or outdoors, providing additional flexibility when selecting an installation location. Its IP66-rated enclosure is waterproof and dustproof. For outdoor installations, avoid placing the valve in direct sunlight. The operating temperature range is 14°F to 112°F (-10°C to 44°C).

The IQWV908 is powered by an AC-to-DC power supply and accepts 110VAC at 60Hz or 220VAC at 50Hz, with 12VDC at 1A supplied to the valve through a barrel jack. Its Z-Wave 700 Series communication provides an operating distance of up to 130 feet (39.6 meters) indoors and up to 450 feet (137.2 meters) outdoors under suitable conditions.

The IQ IQWV908 is compatible with the IQ Platform and PowerSeries Pro. It is designed for quarter-turn ball valves and is not compatible with gate valves. Before installation, verify that the existing water valve is a compatible quarter-turn ball valve.
