Hey, DIYers. Jarrett with Alarm Grid here. Today we're going to be discussing if you can change the master code using the installer code for the Honeywell Lyric panels. Yes, you can change the master code using the installer code in the Honeywell Lyric panel. The systems installer toolbox does have an option to be able to reset the master code to its default, which is 1, 2, 3, 4. The master code to the Honeywell Lyric panels is the main code that you would use to arm and disarm the system. Now, this code is normally changed for security purposes. So if you were a user and you were to possibly forget the master code or if you were a new homeowner and you don't know the master code to the Honeywell Lyric panel, there is a way that you can reset the master code using the installer code in the Honeywell Lyric. The default installer code for the Honeywell Lyric systems is 4, 1, 1, 2. Now we do recommend that you do keep the installer code as its default in the Honeywell Lyric panel so that later down the road if you were to possibly change the installer code and you forget it, there is no way to re-access programming, or backdoor the system, in order to re-access programming without that code. So you do want to keep that in mind. Now, there is no security risk to keeping the installer code to the Honeywell Lyric panel as its default, because-- I mean, as long as you're not arming and disarming system using that code. So if you were a user and you did want to change or reset the master code using the installer code, you'll just follow these simple steps. So on the main menu you're going to see Security. You're going to tap Security. And then on the top right, you're going to see Tools, so just tap on Tools. And you're going to type in your installer code. The default installer code for the Honeywell Lyric is 4, 1, 1, 2. And then on the top left, you're going to press Program. And on the right side, you're going to look for a down arrow. You're just going to tap that down arrow real quick. And then you should see on the left side in the middle, Reset Master Code. So you're just going to tap that. And you're going to press Yes to confirm that you do want to reset the master code. Once you've done that, then you could just hit the back arrow. And at this point, you can just hit the house button to go back all the way to the home screen. So to check that we have reset the master code to its default, I'm going to go into the system and we're going to access the master tool box, using that default master code, which is 1, 2, 3, 4. So you're going to go into Security. And you're going to go back into Tools. And you're going to type in that default master code, which is 1, 2, 3, 4. So now we have successfully changed, or reset the master code to its default. So now that you are in the master tool box, if you did want to change that master code to any four digit number that you want to, you'll just follow these simple steps. So on the top left in the master tool box, you're just going to press Users. And then, again, on the top left, you should see Master. So you're going to tap on Master, and then you're going to press Edit on the bottom. All right. Now, when you're in this menu, you're going to see four different options. So the option that you're going to want to choose is User Code. So you're going to tap on user code. And this is where you can type in any four digit number that you want to be for your master code. For demonstration purposes, I'm just going to put the master code to its default, which is 1, 2, 3, 4. Once you've confirmed that you have typed in the four digit code that you do want, you're going to press Done. And then you're going to press Save. At this point, you can just hit the green house button to go all the way back to the home screen. And that is how you change the master code using the installer code on the Honeywell Lyric panels.
