Description

In this video, James from Alarm Grid unboxes the Honeywell Lyric AT&T LTE 3-1 Security System Kit. This complete system kit includes a Honeywell Lyric Alarm System, a Honeywell LYRICLTE-A AT&T LTE Communicator, three (3) door and window sensors, one (1) motion detection sensor, and a Honeywell LT-Cable.

Since the Lyric System already offers built-in WIFI, adding a cellular communicator like the Honeywell LYRICLTE-A will make the system dual-path ready. This can be very important for keeping the alarm system monitored during internet outages that would otherwise take the system offline. Remember though that when you go to sign up for monitoring service, you will need to get an alarm monitoring plan that includes cellular service. Some examples of monitoring plans that include cellular connectivity include the Gold and Platinum Level Plans from Alarm Grid. Both Self and Full Plans are fine, just make sure that it is at the Gold or Platinum Level if you decide to get service from Alarm Grid. With three (3) door and window contact sensors and one (1) motion sensor, this system kit is good for a smaller home or an apartment. Alarm Grid also offers 10-1 kits that are better-suited for larger homes and businesses.

[MUSIC PLAYING] Hey, DIY-ers, this is James the video guy from Alarm Grid. Today, I'm stepping in front of the camera so we can do a little unboxing of the AT&T LTE 3-1 kit. Let's jump right in. [MUSIC PLAYING] This kit comes with the Honeywell Air Controller, the SiXPIR motion detector, three Versa Mini door and window contacts, the cellular communicator, and the LT-CABLE. A few features on the Lyric Controller. It supports up to 72 Z-wave devices. Almost any Z-wave device can be included to the Lyric. The Lyric supports up to six Z-wave thermostats, six Z-wave door locks, and 60, six, zero, light modules, light dimmers, appliance modules, window shades, blinds, garage doors, water valves, and sirens or strobes. Next up, we have the SiXPIR motion detector. The Honeywell SiXPIR is a wireless passive infra-red motion sensor which uses Honeywell SiX Series encrypted wireless protocol to communicate securely with the Lyric Controller Alarm System. It has an attractive modern design with a rounded lens that fits unobtrusively into any decor. The SiXPIR has a coverage area 40 feet by 56 feet. It could be mounted flat to the wall or corner mounted. You will also receive three Versa Mini door and window contacts. The Versa Mini provides an excellent solution for wirelessly monitoring a door or window. These sensors look great, install easily, and will work well with your new Lyric. The LYRICLTE-A offers a way to further future proof your advanced Lyric Security System. Cellular communications ensure that your alarm system has a reliable path to Honeywell's AlarmNet server, regardless of local power outage or ISP issues that may affect local internet connections. Honeywell has decided to offer this device as a means to acquire faster cellular speeds and look toward the future. And finally, the Honeywell LT-CABLE, a Universal Security System Power Supply Cable. This cable offers a way to power cycle an alarm system without disconnecting the transformer from the wall, nor having to use any tools to loosen screw terminals at the panel. So I know what you're thinking, OK, well this is the kit. What actually comes with it? I'm glad you asked. Let's take a look. Beginning with the Lyric Controller, first, we have this lovely piece of cardboard. Next is a welcome packet with detailed information on your Lyric Controller. We have the Lyric itself. There are mounting screws in case you decide to put your Lyric on the wall. We also have the AC transformer, a programming guide for your Lyric. There's a language supplement so you can choose which language you prefer the Lyric to display. And lastly, a guide to programming the Lyric for using Apple's home-kit. The SiXPIR passive infra-red motion detector. Inside the box, you will find the actual motion detector, of course. These strips of tape go on the back of the motion detector and will allow you to either-- oh, oh, sorry. They'll allow you to either corner mount the device or place it flat against the wall. You'll also find a quick installation guide that will show you how to open and roll and place the motion detector for best results. [MUSIC PLAYING] The Versa Mini is a compact wireless security contact for doors and windows and any other objects that open and close. On the back, you'll find 3M tape, which will make mounting very easy. You'll find the operating instructions inside the box that Versa comes in, including installing the Versa and mounting guidelines. The LyricLTE Digital Cellular Communicator. This communication module allows the Lyric Controller to communicate with the central station via the Cellular Radio Network. It comes with an installation guide showing you how to install the module for the first time and checking the signal strength. And when you're installing the communicator, you will need this screw. And last but not least, we have the LT- CABLE. This is the power cable. It attaches to the transformer with these leads attaching here at these leads, which gives AC power to the Lyric. So that is the AT&T LTE 3-1 kit.
