Hey, DIYers. Dylan here with Alarm Grid. Today, we're going to be reviewing how to bypass a sensor on the IQ 4 panel. Bypassing a sensor is done if you do not want the sensor to be active while you're arming your system. It could be for multiple reasons, if you want a door to be left open, if the sensor is having a trouble which you haven't resolved yet, or other reasons as well. Pretty much bypassing is fairly simple. Initially, so say, we have a door that's open. Front door open. Front door open. So while the door is open, I cannot arm the system. It will not let me. But if you go to the disarm option there, press on this arrow right here. Again. Well, you'll see right here, we have a active list of sensors. And if this door was not open, you see it is gone. But we also have the All option, which will show all the sensors that are programmed to the system. So to bypass, it's fairly simple. We will just press the actual sensor itself. And then it will allow me to arm the system. So while this is armed, it doesn't trigger the alarm. And I can open and close the door as needed. Now when you have a bypass sensor, when you disarm the system, that's going to clear the bypass. Bypass cleared. And sensor-- Front door open. --is active once again. Not all sensors can be bypassed such as smoke detectors, other live safety devices. Reason being is that you don't really want those to not be active as a fire can occur at any time. So you want the smoke detector to be active so it can trigger the alarm if needed. There's also a auto bypass feature for the closest panel-- Front door open. --which is enabled by default. But you can always check in your settings, if you want to. So we'll go down to Settings here. I'm going to go to Advanced Settings, enter our installer code. We'll go to Installation, Security and Arming, and then scroll down, until you see it right there. So as you see, blue checkmark, we have this enabled. So that means even if my sensor is active and I arm it, system will still arm, automatically bypass a sensor. No alarms triggered. Oops. The auto bypass feature, if you arm remotely from the alarm.com platform, it will work as well. However, you cannot arm-- I'm sorry, you cannot disarm-- you cannot bypass sensors from alarm.com individually. They'll all be bypassed when you arm from there, if you have that feature enabled. When you're using the auto bypass feature through alarm.com, it will only bypass any active sensors. So if you have a sensor that you want bypassed, but it's not showing active with the system, it will not bypass if you armed through alarm.com. You'll have to go to the actual panel, go to the bypass option, press all so you can view all the sensors, and you'll be able to bypass from there.
