Hey, DIYers. Dylan here with Alarm Grid. Today, we're going to review how to connect your Qolsys IQ Panel 4 to a WIFI network. This is a very simple process and just want to review a few things about how the Qolsys will work with that network. So to start, this can connect to either a 2.4 or 5GHz network. 2.4 is going to have a longer WIFI distance range, while the 5 is going to have a bit faster speeds. By default, these connections are used as a secondary communication path in regards to the main cellular communication path that the system uses to be connected for monitoring, as well as alarm.com use. But the WIFI can be a backup for that if there's any issues with that cellular rating. We're going to review how to connect this, we're going to run a few tests just to test that connection, and we'll get this connected. All right. So we have our Qolsys IQ Panel 4 here and as you can see by the screen, we are not connected to WIFI. So obviously, very simple. We can just press connect right here. That will bring us to the connection screen where you can then enter the WIFI password and get connected, but I'm also going to show you another way to access that screen if not just from this first page here. So another way to access the WIFI connection is to click the gray bar at the top, press on settings. As you see, no WIFI access because we're not connected. OK. And we're going to go into advanced settings. Enter user code. For this, any code can be used. You can use the installer, the dealer, or the master code. We're going to use the installer, the default code is 1111. And then as you see right on the bottom, we have the WIFI connection there. For any other codes, it will bring up similar menus with fewer or less options but that WIFI option will always be there. OK. So now we're going to locate our network here. We're right at the top, Alarm Grid. And then you're going to enter in your password for the network. So just one moment. OK. So we entered our password and there was a connect option as well. The password was correct so we are now connected to the WIFI network. And if we go back to the home screen, you'll notice it's looking different as we do not have the connect to WIFI option anymore since we're already connected of course. Now, once you're connected, you can also run a test for the WIFI connection. You'll do this by going back to the gray bar, back into settings, back to advanced settings. Enter user code. We're going to enter the installer code again of 1111. And then you'll see a system test option here. And then we have the WIFI test. So we're going to run the WIFI test just to make sure the connection is secured and strong. OK. Perfect. Result passed. The time that we ran the test, we have the speed showing there, and then the status is connected. So we know we are connected to the WIFI and it's in a functional state for it to work if it ever needs to send out signals through that WIFI connection. OK. So that is how you connect to your Qolsys IQ Panel 4 to the WIFI network. As you saw, the WIFI connection is pretty simple. It's pretty standard. We ran the WIFI test to make sure that everything was working properly, which it was. And that's essentially it for that connection process.
